Chapter 8 - Abscent

I woke up at around 5am
Because I still had my clock set for School.

I turned my alarm off and rolled over.
I couldn't go to school today I was too scared and I just didn't have the energy to get up.

I decided to go back to sleep.

When I woke up it was 1pm,
I looked at my phone.

U: Tendō can we talk at school today?

U: Hey Tendō where are you the coach decided to already start practice without u.

U: are you okay?

I just left him on read because I didn't want to annoy him when he is mad at me.
Plus I didn't know what to tell him.

|| 3rd Perspective ||

It has been 2 weeks since Tendō last went to school, He just didn't have the energy and mood to go.
Even if that meant that he can't do his favorite activity.

Ushijima was very worried about Tendō, He didn't respond to his messages and didn't even read them most of the times.

||Ushijima's POV||

It's been 2 weeks since i last saw Tendō.
I was extremely worried about him and it gave me a sick feeling.

I just tried to convince myself that he is sick.

But after these 2 weeks that didn't seem to be the case,
He even missed the trainings match against Aoba Johsai.

I had enough, I asked our coach for his address.
I told him it's for his homework, the coach gave me his address and I waited until after school to go to his house.

I started walking to the address the coach gave me.

I arrived at the house and rung the bell.

The door suddenly opened but just a small bitt so I couldn't see inside.

||Tendō's POV||

I heard the door bell ring and walked downstairs, to look who it is.

I opened the door just so I could make out who it was.

I saw Ushijima Wakatoshi standing at my door.
I immediately shut the door and ran back up, I started to panic.

„What is he doing here?!"
I said as I walked around my room nervously.

I decided to sit in a corner until he went away.

||Ushijima's POV||

Did he just shut the door in my face?

I decided to knock a couple more times before I had enough.

I forcefully slammed my whole body weight against the door, breaking it open because it wasn't locked.

I shouted
„Tendō where are you?!"

I heard quiet cries coming from upstairs so I went upstairs and opened the first door I saw.

..Nothing..

I walked to the next door and opened it.

It revealed a messy room with a lot of instant noodle cups standing on the floor and dirty dishes everywhere.

In the corner of the room I saw him.

He sat against the wall crying with his knees pulled up to his face.

„Tendō?.."
I said with a now scared voice.

I wasn't scared of him, I was scared FOR him.

I slowly walked towards him slowly reaching out my hand.
He flinched and started to cry harder.

„Tendō."

„what.."
He answered with a shaking voice.

„Tendō you need to tell me what happened. I won't leave until you give me an good explanation, why you were not at school for the past 2 weeks."

„just leave me alone."

„No. Im not gonna leave you alone."

Tendō just ignored me and continued to sit in the corner.

I then sighed and sat down beside him.

„Im gonna stay here until you talk to me, even if it takes a year."

We sat there for a good 2 hours when Tendō calmed down.
He started with „I-."

I looked at him curious what he was gonna say.

T „The reason I didn't come into school is because I.."

He cut himself off and started to sob again.

I said : „don't worry you can tell me I'm going to keep it to myself"

He sniffed as he replied : „do you promise not to tell anyone?"

U „I promise that I won't tell anyone why you didn't come into School."

T „.. I-.."
He hesitated before he finally continued.

T „do you know Yamagata?.."

U „That Yamagata from our club?"

T „yeah.."

U „yeah I do, what about him, he seems kind of nice."

T „2 weeks ago he invited me to his house and asked me to help him with maths, so I went to his house and helped him.."

T „he started to praise me for how good I am with maths and I got kind of uncomfortable.. I was about to leave when he suddenly.."

U „what did he do?"

T „he... r3p3d me.."

Tendō then started to cry even harder.

U „he did what?..."

I was in shock of what I just heard Tendō say.
I also didn't know how to react to that.

I then pulled Tendō into a tight hug him flinching at my sudden movement.

U „It's okay don't worry I'm not gonna hurt you.."

I tried to comfort Tendō but it didn't help.

U „You could've told me sooner.. Im so sorry that I was pissed at you. It's not your fault I don't know what I was thinking but don't worry I'll make sure that he will regret what he did.."

T „don't It will only make things worse and whats the point? I guess I should've just be more careful.."

U „No it is not your fault! I won't let someone just hurt you like that."

T „but why do you care anyway? We aren't even good friends.."

U „Just don't worry about it, please come back to school, the coach is about to kick you out of the team, I could convince him to let you in."

T „thank you, I will come back to school tomorrow."

Tendō then gave me a tight hug that lasted for a while.
I felt that weird feeling again but I don't know what it is.
