Tommy has always been blind since birth. He had loving parents or he thought were loving before he developed his power. His power was almost a gift as it returned Tommy's sight only with a cost.

He could restore his sight by consuming blood from other people. Discovering this Tommy attacked his mother and after that Tommy was sent to a rehabilitation facility. That leads us to now ten years later.

"Thomas, it's lunch time. Go join the others or I will have to write you up again." The Nurse warns Tommy. He stays curled up on the floor and ruffle his feathers.

"Tch, Guess that's another write up for you." The nurse says before turning away. Tommy gets up from the floor and stumbles toward the exit. The nurse turns back as Tommy urgently grabs their coat.

The nurse pushed Tommy off causing him to loose balance. "You can walk yourself, I have other patients to tend to." The nurse sternly says. She walks away with rushed steps.

This left Tommy on his own to get to the cafeteria. Tommy knows the way to the cafeteria even with his blindness. He made the trip many times, more than he could count.

He orientates himself and start walking in that direction. His hand glides over the smooth wall as he walks, feeling the familiar texture.

When he approached the cafeteria he could hear the talking of other children who were also sent here. As he walked towards the lunch line he could feel the eyes of others. The whispers of new kids who haven't met Tommy and the tales of the older kids spreading rumors.

Tommy tried his hardest to ignore every one and ended up running into someone in line. Tommy made a quick apology and backed up a step.

"Your Thomas? The residential kid right?" The boy who he ran into asked. The boy moved Tommy forwards as the line moved. Tommy was on edge cause no one usually talks to him. On the rare occasion people just wanted something from him.

"Yeah? What do you need?" Tommy answered. Tommy could feel the kid's interest peak. At this point the boy turned to the cafeteria worker to order. Tommy thought that was the end of the encounter until he left the line to find the boy was waiting for him.

"Come sit with me, I wanna get to know you." The boy eager says. Without even getting a word in to object, Tommy was dragged to an empty table to sit with this mystery boy.

"First off I'm Purpled, and I have recently moved to the residential ward. Which to find no one lives there." Purpled begins to talk. He goes on about how the ward is boring and there's nothing to do. Tommy just listens to the boy as he eats his chicken strips.

"Crazy that I been here for two weeks already and I heard many rumors about you." Purpled brings up. That's is what Tommy was dreading. Tommy wasn't oblivious that others were curious about him. Everyone just wants a good story to listen to and Tommy was just the person to have these story's to be made about.

"I'm not interested in these rumors, go entertain someone else. " Tommy cuts in. That caught Purpled to pause in his tracks and got his head gears turning. Tommy got up and left the cafeteria while accidentally bumping into a table on the way out. What annoyed Tommy is that Purpled is one stubborn bastard.

"Toms, can I call you that?" Purpled asked. "Let's be real with each other. I believe you know something that can help me." Tommy didn't want to take part in whatever Purpled was wanting so as he approached his room he immediately closed the door on Purpled.

Tommy had enough interactions today and went straight to bed. He ignored the nurse who came by to tell him to go to dinner and accepted another write up. Since then he couldn't go back to sleep and just laid in bed.

A knock rang through his ears a bit after dinner. "Thomas, let's talk in my office." The familiar deep voice sounded. Thomas tensed up in bed trying to stay still and not violently shake. Doc wasn't in the mood for Tommy's resistance and grabbed him and shoved him to the floor.

"Get up and walk with me to my office." Doc commanded. Tommy's eyes blurred with tears and shakily stands up. His head faces towards the ground as he walks with Doc to his office. He sits in the usual chair

"I hope you're not trying to starve yourself again, we know how that went last time." Doc says. Tommy shakes his head in disagreement. Tommy feeling his nerves spike he picks at his fingers trying to find some relief.

"Good" Doc hummed. "You're getting a visitor in a week. I better not hear about another accident or I'm upping your medication." Doc threatens. Tommy nods his head and leaves the office. That was probably one of the best interaction that Tommy has had with the man.

Walking back to his room he was stopped again by no other than Purpled. "Hey Toms! Let's talk." Purpled exclaimed. Purpled walks right next to Tommy treading at his pace. Tommy sigh and just allows Purpled into his room.

"What do you want?" Tommy asks in a demanding demeanor. Purpled smirks and goes to sit on Tommy's bed.

"I've learned about your failed escape attempt and I would like to get out of here." Purpled states. Tommy freezes up. Of course he wants to leave but after what happened last time, he rather not.

"Why do you need my help? You're more capable than I am." Tommy replied. He waved his hand over face trying to remind Purpled of his blindness. Purpled deeply inhales and pauses for a moment.

"Because I have a life out there and what I've heard you deserve to get a taste of freedom." Purpled replies. "Plus you know more about this place than me"

Tommy takes a moment to think. He won't be alone this time and he got nothing to lose. He also can't keep living like this. It's been ten years since he's actually been in the real world. During his time here it's been hell.

"So when are we gonna do this?" Tommy asks with a grin forming on his face. Tommy could feel Purpled excitement.

"As soon as possible. This place gives me bad vibes." Purpled says while leaving Tommy's room. "We meet tomorrow right after breakfast."

The door shuts with a click and Tommy is left alone once again. He feels hopeful for the first time in a good while. A nurse in the hallways calls for lights out and Tommy goes to sleep.
