"So, what's this movie supposed to be about ?" Taylor asked as she grabbed a fistful of popcorn from the bucket sitting in between her and Travis.

The two were gonna watch a movie that Travis had chosen due to watching some parts of it on Tiktok. They didn't really know what to expect, except that it was a horror movie.

"It's called "Orphan". Apparently it's about this family who adopts a 9 year old with some mysterious unresolved trauma or something like that. I'm not too sure." Travis said as he used the remote to navigate through HBO Max, searching for the movie.

"Oh, that doesn't sound too bad." Taylor didn't think it could contain anything too bad. But it was a horror movie, so expect the unexpected.

"Yeah," Travis chuckled. "I'm still gonna hold you,though." He said as he put an arm around Taylor.

Taylor winced a bit at the sight of blood dripping from the wheelchair the woman was on in one of the first scenes,and Travis flinched a bit. But none of them spoke a word.

However, once the nurse handed the woman the bloody infant, Taylor let out a shriek and hid her face in Travis' chest.

"WHAT THE FUCK." she shouted, her voice a bit muffled.

"I'm not too sure about this movie anymore, Tay..." Travis hesitated as he stroked Taylor's hair gently.

"No, I can do it. I'll finish it, come on, press play again." Taylor slowly pulled her head out of Travis' chest and took a few deep breaths to stabilize herself.

Travis resumed the movie, making sure to check on Tay every few seconds.

Taylor gasps a bit and covers her eyes when the lady almost gets into a car crash.

"Did they crash ? Is the little girl okay ?" she asks Travis rapidly.

Travis giggles a bit.

"Nah, they're both alright. They almost crashed, but fortunately they didn't. You can uncover your precious eyes, baby girl."

Taylor uncovered her eyes and they kept watching the movie. They get to the part where Esther gets home and they spend Christmas together as a family. Taylor suddenly tells Travis to pause the movie.

"You alright baby girl?" he asks her,a bit confused.

"Yea, it's just that they seem like a really happy family up until now, and I know that if we keep watching that image will be just completely ruined, so I'll give myself the benefit of the doubt.

Travis laughs at her explanation a bit.

"Yeah, it's kind of late anyway, so we should probably get to bed already."

After they finish getting into their pajamas and brushing their teeth, they get into bed together.

"Travis ?"

"Yea, princess ?" Travis mumbles, half asleep.

"Did you see how happy the family in the movie looked, all together ?" Taylor asks innocently.

"Mhm..what about it, baby ?" Travis asks, softly stroking her hair.

"I think I want that for us."
