"It's me. We arrived safely and Sean is fed and down for his nap. I'm getting ready to have some lunch with Mum and Aunt Grace. I hope today goes well in the studio. Love you." Brian stated as he finished his answering machine message to Roger and hung up the phone.
"How are you handling this big change in your life?" Aunt Grace inquired as Brian sat down at the table next to his mother.
"Alright, I think. It is a big change." Brian agreed wearing a smile. He gripped his tea mug between both hands. Enjoying the warmth and the fragrance of the strong tea. "Despite Sean's sudden entrance into our lives, we have managed to settle into parenthood quite nicely." he boasted as the woman smiled at him.
"I approve of his name." Aunt Grace remarked as she sipped her tea. "A boy always fares well in life with a nice Celtic name." she stated.
"I seemed to have fared well with mine." Brian replied proudly. "He had always been content with his name.
"Your father wanted to name you Harold Junior but I wasn't having it!" Ruth said with a touch of disdain as Brian smirked at the mention of this often repeated tale.
"Brian is definitely not a Harold!" Grace chimed in.
"I hope Sean likes his name. Roger was happy with it." Brian mentioned.
"It's such a shame Roger couldn't come with you." Grace remarked. "I was hoping to see him as well." she said as Brian nodded.
"He had already committed months ago to this time for producing Freddie's new record." Brian responded. "It's a pretty large production with a full orchestra and they are at Abbey Road." he explained. "It's an important job." he added as Grace appeared to understand.
"I expect he will be working long hours then." Grace surmised.
"Yes. That is why it seemed like a good time to come visit." Brian told her.
"We can help out with Sean and enjoy seeing you both." his mother observed.
"Exactly." Brian agreed.
"What have you been up to besides taking care of your little one?" Grace inquired.
"I do have something to share with you both. Something I just did that will make me a bit of money." Brian advised. Seeing both women look at him with interest.
"What is that dear?" his mother asked him.
"I was offered a chance to do an advertisement for a shampoo and conditioner for people with curly hair." he divulged. "It's that brand called Bounciful."
"I know that brand." Ruth responded. "I've used it myself. It's quite nice actually." she said as Brian smiled hearing it. Feeling better about promoting the product.
"They wanted to advertise in Swish magazine and Deacy thought someone who is gay being in the advert would come across better. He and the advertising man asked me if I would do it." he explained.
"That's a good reason to agree to be in an ad." Grace stated as Ruth smiled and nodded.
"It is." Ruth concurred.
"They even said if they like the photos they might consider using me in the mainstream ads as well. To be honest it wasn't something I would normally do but I really need the money I'm making from it." Brian confessed.
"Are you alright?" Ruth asked him with concern in her voice. "I've got the money from the house sale. If you need some..." she began to say.
"That's your money Mum!" Brian reminded her. "I don't really need money, but I wanted to earn this to help with getting a bigger place to live." he explained.
