Arjun

How many twists are there in my story? Everything has been unpredictable in our lives since yesterday. I got married, and an army of royals threatened to kill my wife. And then today, we are suddenly no longer forest-dwelling Brahmans but Pandav again.

Part of me is relieved since King Dhrupad and His son figured out that we were the Pandavas who were rumored to be dead for almost two years, Krishnaa doesn't have to live a miserable life in the forest.

I spare a glance at her, she sat quietly near her mother, Queen Prishati. Her brows were scrunched slightly as she tried to control her frown, but failed. Her eyes restlessly traveled back and forth between her mother and King Dhrupad who was taken to a corner by sage Vyasa after he sort of disapproved of our marriage.

She was not too pleased by the situation, I could tell. I was glad the King sent us chariots, she didn't have to walk her way here. Back then, she had been bold and declined her father's facilities while walking with me. But I could see her struggle through the rough paths and stumble upon the tiniest of pebbles.

The corner of my mouth curved in a smirk as I observed her from afar. Her eyes met mine for a brief second, and her cheeks turned a light shade of red when she was caught looking at me. So cute.

"I do not object to this polyandrous marriage"  King Dhupada's voice made me look at him, he and sage Vyasa's conversation lasted for almost half an hour and it seemed he finally made a decision.

I trusted the Sage, the marriage had already happened and it can't be undone. Krishnaa is ours and there is no doubt about that.

"But that doesn't stop me from worrying about my daughter's well-being" He continued "I know Polyandry is not that common, but it exists. I trust the sons of Maharaj Pandu that they will manage it. However, people demeaning my daughter for this marriage is not acceptable to me." He spoke to our mother.

"Let anyone say a word, and they'll be brutally killed" Bhrata Bheem spoke nonchalantly as if he were stating something very simple. I smirk as I look back at Krishnaa whose lips are slightly parted as she heard him say that.

"Calm down Bheem" Bhrata Yudhisthir placed a hand on his shoulder as he whispered. King Dhrupad was equally stunned by Bhrata Bheem's words but didn't disapprove. Or I could guess he was happy that someone was ready to kill for his daughter.

"Well then..." Dhrupad sighed "The other concern is, your enemies"

"Draupadi is my only daughter and is dearer to me than my life" he continues. I smile.
"This marriage will take place grandly, it is certain that people will know that Pandavas are alive. So will your enemies. I don't want my daughter to suffer because of your problems."

I take another look at her, she looks offended by her father's words, she then glares at her brother signaling something, which I assume is 'stop him'. Dhrishtadyumna on the other hand, shakes his head in negative dismissing her.

"Our wife will be safe with us" Bhratha Yudhisthir reassures. But King Dhrupad doesn't look pleased.
"Do you have any plans? What will you do next?" the king asks my brother.

"Not yet but we will figure something out," Bhrata Yudhisthir says. His tone is confident but the look of disappointment doesn't leave the King's face.

"Okay" he sighs " Until you have a plan, and I am satisfied with it, you all shall remain here in Kampilya, under our protection." He ordered us. The message was clear, he wouldn't tolerate Krishnaa not being secure. This was a good thing, but we needed to change our plans in the long run.
