"What is going on..." The first thing that I said after waking up on a hospital bed. "Where am I? Mom, is that you?" Question after question, a doctor approached me with a concerned look on her face. "Carissa, I am Doctor Greenwood from Stranford Medical Hospital. And right now, it's a good thing that you are awake. Now, May I ask, what are you feeling right now?" I was confused as to why the doctor asked me that. Why am I really in the hospital? To answer the doctor's question, I checked my body if I have any injury and I also checked if I can feel any pain inside of me. "I feel... nothing"

The doctor was confused and so was my mom and my brother. "Now, why am I really here?", they were all looking at each other waiting for someone who will clear things out. "Carissa...", my mom sat beside me with tears falling down her cheeks. "You were in an airplane crash... and... only you and Enoch survived."

I was shocked. As soon as I heard what my mom said, a quick glimpse of the crash occurred in my brain. But the thing is, it's not like a memory but more of a vision. "What was that?" I involuntarily said. "What was what?" said by my mom. But before I got to answer her question, Doctor Greenwood butted in our conversation. "Carissa, the thing is... All of us here are genuinely concerned and curious as to why you and your friend, Enoch, did not attain any kind of injury. No bruise nor any kind of lacerations. Just nothing."

"Why? Are you hoping that my sister is severely injured or something? So what? your hospital can earn much more money huh?" As said by my older brother, Alex, who misunderstood the doctor's statement. "Mr. Alex Wards, I did not mean it that way. It's just that, this situation is scientifically inaccurate. As a doctor myself, I couldn't even explain the reason on why Ms. Carissa is perfectly fine after an airplane crash."

While the doctor and my brother were having an exchange of words, I pulled all the tubes that were connected into my body. "Alex, that's enough. Respect Doctor Greenwood!" said by my mom. While everyone was busy arguing, I got out of the room which made me think of looking for Enoch's room. I went to the hospital's front desk and asked where Enoch was staying. "Sir, where is Enoch Azarian's room?" I said to the man who looked worried and shocked upon seeing me. "Maam, I need you to stay calm and composed because I need you to get back to your hospital room right now." the man insisted. "But sir, you don't understand, I am totally fine. Now, I want to know-" but the man completely ignored all of my words as he grabbed the telephone to call for staffs to bring me back to my designated hospital room. I needed to think quickly. As an act of adrenaline, I grabbed the hospital's files which alerted the front desk personnels themselves.

As I ran, I hid in the hospital's equipment room

As I ran, I hid in the hospital's equipment room. "Carissa you are so crazy." I said to myself while I was catching my own breath. "Now, where is Enoch's room?" I searched the whole paper itself and luckily, I found Enoch's room. He's staying in room 429. As soon as I found out Enoch's room number, I sneakily got out of the equipment room to avoid any chase from the staffs again.

Slowly walking in the hospital's hallways, I got into Enoch's room just in time. His parents are still not here yet. I assumed that his parents are late due to the fact that they live in another country. "Enoch..." I calmly said as I do not want to shock him. "Enoch... can you hear me?". I, then, tapped Enoch's shoulder to wake him up.

"Uhm, where am I?" He said as he was confused too as to why he's sleeping in a hospital bed. "You might want to sit down when I tell you this." In a span of five (5) minutes, I updated Enoch about what happened to us.

"What the f*ck? Jack, Norman, Sasha... They're all... Gone?" Enoch said as tears started to fall from his eyes. "Now, all of them are curious as to why we did not attain any physical injury and on what makes the two of us the only survivor of the crash." I said which also made Enoch confused. "Enoch, I believe this is not just some type of miracle. I believe there's something more to this."

Hospital staffs rushed into the door then quickly assisted me back to my hospital room. "Why did you do that, Carissa? Are you out of your mind?" My brother angrily asked. "I needed to talk to Enoch! But, he's just like me, clueless about the accident." My mom hugged me with tears in her eyes, "Carissa, honey, please take a rest. Let's talk about it at home sooner or later". "But mom, I, too, am curious as to why we were absolutely fine after the plane crash occurred. I repeat, plane crash."

Doctor Greenwood entered the room once again which made me assume that she had news to share. "Mrs. Wards, and Mr. and Ms. Wards, I am glad to inform you that your daughter will be back at your home as soon as tomorrow. As long as the lab results turn out fine, we have nothing to worry about."

A couple of days have passed and I was still concerned about Enoch. Last time that I talked to him, he did not look great and was still shocked about the idea of losing his friends. "Are you still worrying about him?" Mom asked me because I know she knows that I've been worrying about Enoch all the time.

Not to mention, my mom suggested the idea of me not using some gadgets because of the news which could worsen my trauma. I had no idea what the media said about me.

"Yes, mom. It's just different to talk to someone who has the same exact situation as you. And not to mention, I know that he is grieving. But knowing Enoch, he will hide that emotion of his." I said to my mom as I weakingly sat down on our couch. "Don't worry, tomorrow, you can meet him at school. Let's just hope that he's present. Okay?" Mom assured me to ease up my anxiety. "Yeah, you're right. I should also probably sleep since school starts tomorrow at 8:00 a.m"

As soon as I lay down in my bed, my brother knocked on my door sounding concerned and calm. I instantly gave him the permission to enter my room because I know he's still traumatized about the fact that I got into an accident. "Just so you know, I am always here for you, you know that. And... I am actually glad that you survived that stupid crash."

This is the first time my brother became so concerned to me due to the fact that he's now busy with his work as a lawyer. To end this day, my brother hugged me right before I went to sleep and that is when I turned off the lamp shade.
