Chapter 2: Men in Black

As I woke up, I felt timid. I mean, people in the school would probably ask me about the crash and on how Enoch and I survived it. It's not just the question that bothers me, it's also because of the idea that I don't know the answer to that question. How the heck did I even survive a crash which killed almost all the passengers in it. Before I proceeded on being anxious, my mother entered my room to call me for breakfast.

As soon as I went downstairs, a sweet aroma of a grilled steak greeted me. My mother knew that a great way to calm me down is to cook me my favorite dish of all time; a grilled steak paired with a fruit shake. Does that sound weird? Well, as long as my mom made it, I will devour that plate.

Now that I have eaten breakfast, I immediately went to the bathroom to take a shower. While droplets of water were taking place in my body, a sudden memory took over my vision.

Memory 1: In the midst of the crash, I was desperately screaming for my friend's help as I was stuck with a two heavy luggages on my legs

Memory 1: In the midst of the crash, I was desperately screaming for my friend's help as I was stuck with a two heavy luggages on my legs

Memory 2: In the middle of the sea, I saw a sort of blue light entering my body but everything was kind of blurry

What the heck was that? A memory? A vision? My memories... it was all coming back slowly. But what was that blue light that I saw? Why can't I remember anything from the plane crash? Why is everything vivid? With those memories of mine suddenly showing up, I realized that I needed to talk to Enoch if he was also seeing some kind of vision.

"Mom, I'm going to school!" I said to my mom while I was in a hurry to leave because I can't wait to talk to Enoch about these visions. "Carissa, wait." my mom worriedly said. "Are you sure you can go to your school alone? I mean, people are saying these mean things about you being a demon or something."

That's when I knew that people perceived me as a monster. "Mom, I can do this. I just need you to trust me and be positive about the fact that I survived the crash". My mother hugged me for being thankful that I am well and alive after the accident. "Here's your phone. Now that you are going to your school, you will be needing it. But be ready for the news that you'll read." I then hugged my mom for being so concerned about me. She is the absolute best. "Thank you, mom. I will be sure to update you."

While I was on my way to the bus stop, I could see my neighbors' eyes looking directly at me. I can hear them mumble about me being a demon incarnate. That's literally unbelievable. But... I needed answers as to why I survived the crash without a single scratch. This is hell. I needed to catch a bus in the quickest way possible because I couldn't handle my neigbor's judgement about me.

As soon as I entered the bus, I was lucky to get the last available seat. Since the travel time from this bus stop to my school is about 25 minutes, I turned my cellphone on to quickly read the news and to restore my social life once more. "Oh my gosh. 99+ notifications? This is crazy." My phone lagged for a bit due to the amount of notifications that I got. But this is actually crazy.
