"I just need you and some sunsets"
AYUSHMAN'S POV
It's been a week since that day, and now we're roommates. The morning sun peeked through the curtains, and when I opened my eyes, I saw Diya lying beside me in a deep sleep. She looked so peaceful, wearing my oversized shirt and with her tousled hair framing her serene face.
I couldn't resist, so I reached out and gently brushed my hand across her cheek. Her skin felt so soft and warm, and it made me smile. In my head, I promised myself that I would officially propose to Diya in a way that she truly deserves. I swear, I'm going to give her the best proposal ever and let her and the world know that she is my wife.
She stirred slightly at my touch, her eyes fluttering open.
"Kya dekh rhe ho?" she mumbled, her voice still heavy with sleep.
(What are you looking at?)
"Apni biwi ko," I replied softly, my eyes never leaving her face.
(Looking at my wife)
She groaned, a playful pout forming on her lips. "Zyada mat dekho nazar lag jayegi."
(Don't stare too much; you'll jinx it.)
I chuckled at her response. "Acha, sorry baba," I said, and did the traditional gesture of taking out the evil eye, making her laugh. "Better?" I asked, smiling down at her.
"Better," she said, her laughter subsiding into a soft smile.
I couldn't resist any longer and pulled her towards me. She tried to pull back, a shy smile playing on her lips as she avoided my gaze by fiddling with my fingers.
"Tumhare irade nek nahi lag rhe," she said, her cheeks turning a lovely shade of pink.
(Your intentions don't seem good)
I intertwined my fingers with hers and leaned in closer.
"Toh maine kab bola ki nek hai," I teased, enjoying the way her face went even redder.
(So when did I say they were good?)
With a mischievous glint in my eye, I leaned in and gently bit her earlobe.
"What are you doing, Ayushman?" she whispered, her breath hitching.
"What do you think I'm doing, my love?" I replied, moving down to bite her collarbone softly. Her scent filled my senses, and I felt intoxicated by her presence.
"It's morning," she protested weakly, her voice a mere whisper now.
"I can't see the sun," I murmured against her skin, before capturing her lips in a deep, devouring kiss. For a moment, time stood still, and it was just the two of us, lost in each other.
Then, her stomach growled loudly, breaking the spell. I pulled back and laughed. "Okay, you go and get refreshed. I'll prepare something yummy for you," I said, giving her a quick peck on the forehead before getting out of bed.
I went to my room got refreshed and I headed towards the kitchen.
Suddenly my phone started buzzing and I picked it up.
"Hurry back the clients want to meet you now", Rihan shouted.
"I get it you don't have to shout. I'll be in 30", I said and ended the call.
I prepared a simple red sauce pasta her favorite. I went to change and then returned to her room with the breakfast.
She was drying her hair. I kept the breakfast and went ahead.
"Lemme do it", I said drying her hair.
"I have an important meeting to attend but I'll be back soon."
"It's literally Sunday", she grumbled.
"Yes I know but it's really important but not important than you so I'll cancel it", I said.
"No, No you go", she protested.
"It's okay we can stay together the whole day"
"No you leave right now", she said.
"Are you sure?", I asked.
"Yes, and bring cheesecake for me while coming or else I won't allow you to enter the house.", she demanded.
"Yas ma'am aapka hukum sar aankho par and I'll be having my desert when you have yours ."
(Your wish is my command)
"Haan toh khud ke liye bhi kuch le aana", she said.
(Yes, and get something for yourself too.)
"I didn't mean about that desert sweetheart", I said making her face red.
"Okay now I'm leaving have your breakfast and rest", I pecked her forehead and left for work.
The meeting was very hectic some clients had come from London to discuss about the current project.
After that, I headed towards the bakery.
Entering the cozy little shop, the sweet aroma of freshly baked goods enveloped me. I smiled at the baker, a friendly old woman who greeted me warmly.
"Hi there," I said. "I'd like a cheesecake, please."
She nodded and started preparing my order. As I waited, my eyes wandered over the display of desserts—rows of cupcakes, tarts, and pastries, each more tempting than the last. An idea struck me. "Actually," I added, "I'll take all the desserts you have available."
The baker raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised. "All of them? That's quite a lot."
"Must be someone very special," she continued with a knowing smile as she started boxing up the treats.
"She is," I replied, thinking of Diya's radiant smile. "My wife loves sweets."
After taking them I headed towards the house.
As I stepped into the house, the sounds of laughter and lively conversation drew my attention. I turned the corner and froze, my heart sinking. There was Diya, radiating happiness and warmth, her laughter ringing out as she spoke to a man I didn't recognize.
I had never seen her so animated, so effortlessly joyful—not even with me. A sharp pang of jealousy twisted in my gut. Who is this bastard now trying to steal my wife? I thought, my mind racing with a mix of confusion and anger.
