Leila had grown up being used to hearing the whispers that circulated around her. No matter how many times she tried to get used to them and made it seem like they do not really affect her, it always hurt.

However, today as she walked mindlessly in the hallway of her school, the eyes were pointing at her but not with jealousy or fear instead they were filled with confusion.

It seemed like everyone was aware about the news. The alliance between her family and King family. The thought that still made her feel uncomfortable somewhere.

Leila paused in front of her locker, taking out the books. Suddenly, she felt a presence behind her that made her feel alert.

Looking back, she found Julia and Bella. Seeing them in front of her, silence filled throughout the hallway.

"Thank you, Leila." Julia started, expressing her gratitude. The reason behind this was still unknown.

"Oliya contacted me last night. She is safe and well but she had moved out of the country. I believe it's better than her being dead actually." The last sentence made Leila frown.

"Your family gave her reasonable punishment after what she had done to you in the library that day. You could have died too. Oliya is genuinely guilty. That's why I'm here to apologize on her behalf."

This moment turned awkward.

"Ok." Leila whispered, hoping that they would leave then. Both must have understood that she wants to do nothing else about it. So they left after complimenting her new look once.

Leila's eyes made contact with Adriano who was watching the entire scene while he leant against the wall in front of her.

No words were exchanged between them as usually and Leila found herself on her way to the next class.

Just to her luck, she found Alexander who was blocking the path as in entrance to the room.

"Hello partner." He smirked cockily.

Leila frowned, remembering why she had been feeling weird since the entire morning. This whole alliance means nothing because currently Alexander was looking at her in a way that ensured nothing but harm.

"Step away." She mumbled.

He chuckled in return.

She was being cute thinking he would do whatever she says.

He stepped forward and took a piece of her short hair in his finger.

"You looked beautiful with long hair but it doesn't matter, you look even more stunning now."

If there was some another girl, her cheeks would flush at Alexander's charming words but Leila could only stare with none expression.

"Step out of the way." She repeated herself.

These words faltered his movements. He looked genuinely baffled seeing that she was not at all impressed.

He chuckled again and leaned down to look right in her eyes.

"You are being too cold."

She narrowed her eyes, finally opting to push him away. She walked past him, narrowly avoiding his fingers that wanted to wrap around her wrist.

He leaned against the doorframe, his eyes moving over the stunned classmates to Leila who seemed unbothered of the bashful stares and quietly opened her notebook to look through her notes.

Leila Lambordi was playing a dangerous game and he sure cannot wait for the outcome.

Upon returning home, at the end of the day, exhausted Leila wanted nothing but to collapse in the comfort of the bed. It was Angelo who picked her up from school today but as soon as they got back home, he had gotten a call from Carlo who asked him to meet at one of the warehouse.

Leila sat down on the couch, grabbing a glass of water from one of the maid.

"Where is Mia?" She could not help but ask curious.

"She went to the grocery shopping, madam." The maid replied politely and took the empty glass.

"Would you like anything to eat?" She asked Leila in a humble tone.

Leila smiled faintly and waved her hand.

"Not really. I'm going to my room to take rest."

Watching the maid leave, Leila stood up from the couch while grabbing her bag in the process.

As she turned around swiftly, about to walk towards her room, she suddenly twisted her ankle.

Her face gave into shock. It soon turned to slight panic as pain gushed up to her ankle.

She fell back down on the couch in response and grabbed her foot. The sharp pain suddenly overwhelmed her senses, bringing tears to her eyes.

"Oi! Baby sister!"

She looked up, yelping slightly in surprise at the sight of Luciano who stood in front of her, too close to her face. His eyes squinted as he looked at her tears and then back at her hand that was cradling her ankle.

"Sprained ankle eh? Let me fix that!" He grinned crazily.

Leila stared in horror. The way of his fixing would definitely promise something more crazy other than the actual fixing.

Before she could understand, she was yelling 'NO', declining his offer rudely.
