Was the reply as she held up the 3 coins. As if it was clockwork a nock on there carrige door signified the trainladys arrival.

"Anything of the trolley dearies.'' the old woment questioned. "HMMMM...ill have a pumkin pastie and a choclate frog please.'' The hufflepuff handed her money over in exchnage for the sweet treats shed selected. "Anything for you sweetie.'' The old woman had spoken once more. Her gaze directly on Adaline. "Im okay thanks.'' said the blonde. "suit yourself then love.''

As the train moved along steadily amoung the tracks, so did Adalines brain. She couldnt stop thinking about all the revision shed need to do this year to maintain top marks. "Addy, your doing it again. Your overthinking.'' her best friend commented. "im just thinking on my timetable May it's nothing bad.'' "Oh about that, I've dropped DADA." May whispered. "What?!...May what do you mean you've dropped DADA it's a) such an important lesson and b) the only lesson we share together." May cut of the ranting witch "I just don't enjoy the violence of it addy I'd rather take up something else that will give me more free time, we all know how are professors love to drown us in homework. Who knows what this year's professor will do?" "You dropped one of the most important subjects..because of homework?" The blonde was confused and disappointed in the brunette.
"Well there's multiple things to account but that is a main one." Mable whispered in response.
Adeline sighed and then smiled "that's okay may I forget we have different interests."

It's not that Adeline was jealous of her choice to drop Defence against the dark arts, she enjoyed it it was one of her favourite subjects. It was more she was jealous of Mables ability to simply drop a lesson and then completely forget about it. Adeline dreamed of having freedom over her leaving, better yet her own life. However she knew that wouldn't be the case. Even when Adeline left school she knew it would only be days after she returned home before her parents would set her up with some fellow pureblood son and send her away to be married. The idea repulsed her but she'd accepted it. She just hoped the person would be tolerable and not a massive egotistical jerk.

"Thank you addy. I always know you'll support me and it means a lot." May was relieved that her friend hadn't wanted to fight. In fact May was really hoping Adeline loosens up a this year. She'd never understood why she didn't have fun like everybody else.

Another hour passed before the girls changed into their robes. The second there on there labels and stereotypes reinforced. Adeline wasn't a know Slytherin she more I guess you could put it 'slithered in the shadows' but when her robes were on it didn't matter if you even knew the person she was still given looks of judgment and distaste. She never understood why it's not like some mad past Slytherin tried to take over the world for crying out loud. Slytherin just happened to hold a lot of bullies.

20 minutes later the train pulled into the station. Noise and loud bangs signifying fellow students gathering their belongings. Adeline grabbed her suitcase and placed it on the floor beside her before helping Mable gather all her possessions that had somehow escaped there case during the 7hour train ride. "This year's going to be such a great year Addy I can just feel it." The girl said.
"I'm sure it will be with you in it May."Adeline confirmed. The girls walked up to the thestrals that pulled along the carriage. The most unfortunate part being that both girls could see the creatures as they'd both witnessed death firsthand. May saw her nan pass away when she was sick, she was there for her final breaths in support. Adeline however had witnessed a burt of her father's anger and how he'd taken it out on one of his workers..multiple times. She wasn't exactly knowing of what her father did for work as he never disclosed it, every time she asked he's dismiss her or tell her 'I'm working for a man who will do great things for us.' She knew that it wasn't a good job. Although well paying no company should be corrupt enough to kill multiple workers. Adeline knew she'd never be able to tell anyone what she witnessed it would have her father sent to Azkaban and a one was ticket to her own death on her name. So she never told anyone that she saw the magnificent creatures, instead she kept quiet.

"Not that I want you to witness death, but they are oh so beautiful Addy." May spoke. Adeline smiled "well maybe one day I'll witness death in a peaceful manner and they will reveal themselves to me. But for now I don't mind missing out.'' May smiled back and spoke "That's understandable. It's crazy to think this is the last opening ceremony we're attending though don't you agree?" "I think there overrated I think the coolest event Hogwarts holds are the silent ones."

While the girls have attended there had been serval scavenger hunts that ran the school. The guidelines consist of no teams. No discussion of the scavenger hunt. This is why they were often low attendance.  The clues would be handed by the teachers in the morning to individuals who appeared as if they might hold an interest.

"Adeline, not to be rude or anything but they are so boring I don't see how you have an interest in them." May laughed. "Well I don't see how you can roller blade around the school" Adeline joined in on the laughter. Suddenly the carriage came to a stop. "Bloody hell addy we're here already I swear the ride gets shorter every year!" She said. Adeline looked around at her nearby soundings confused they weren't anywhere near Hogwarts. she looked up and noticed that every single carriage had stopped. The ones behind and the ones ahead, not that there appeared to be a reason so far.

"Adaline, what's going on?'' Mable asked.
"Oh may I have no clue but something feels wrong."
