Chapter 43

Alex and Hope brought the slug and showed it to both Freya and Caroline, who turned green at the sight of it and upon hearing about its capabilities. Hope broke the news about Josie, "We believe Josie may have been infected by this slug."

Caroline's face fell as she remembered Josie's unusually happy and energetic demeanor earlier. "Now that I think about it," she said, frowning, "she was acting pretty weird today. I mean, she was being all happy and energetic."

Alex clapped his hands. "That's the slug. It's trying to put suggestions in her head. I'm pretty sure she'll try to take the Urn from your office. We must move it to the Mikaelson manor, and I should update this ward to detect monsters like these."

Elijah muttered,"So that's how you can identify, who is infected."

Caroline, always the protective mother, felt a pang of guilt and fear."I should have noticed something was off," she murmured, her voice filled with worry.

Klaus nodded and said."Moving the Urn to the Mikaelson manor is the best option."

Alex added,"I'll work on updating the ward to detect these slugs. We need to be one step ahead."

Caroline's worry deepened. "Because of the talent show, almost everyone could be infected by those slugs. We need to remove them quickly."

Alex cast a spell to detect the slugs in the area. To their dismay, they discovered the slugs had multiplied and infected most of the students. After ensuring every student and teacher was inside the school, Alex held out his hand, and green dust spread through the Salvatore School as rain clouds began to form. He modified the rain to have purifying effects.

The moment the rain touched the students, the slugs emerged from their ears, and everyone immediately stomped on them.

Kai chuckled and said."He conjuring rain clouds as if it is nothing."

Kol nodded and add."Wait till you see him change into a dragon."

Kai looked at Alexander in awe and questioned."Could you teach me some of your tricks?"

Alexander shrugged and answered."Sure, you can join Kol a d Frey, when we start class."

Kai and Kol were excited.

The talent show had to be rescheduled due to the slippery conditions and the wet props and clothes. With everything returning to normal, Hope and Alex decided to visit Stephanie, who had been missing her brother.

When Alex and Hope met Stephanie, she excitedly shared stories about her friends and the games she played. Alex smiled as she asked, "Big brother, can't you stay here for a while?"

Stephanie ran off to get her dolls, showing them to Alex. He recognized they were practically golems now. Alex smiled and said, "I'll stay here, don't worry. Also, I heard you created dolls with your powers."

He was surprised that Stephanie was unknowingly creating golems, a feat only very powerful and talented witches could accomplish. "Let me look at one of your dolls," he said.

Stephanie eagerly handed a doll to Alex, who canceled the magic and added a slight animation charm to ensure it was harmless yet fun to play with. Stephanie still had nightmares about her parents' death, and Alex was the only one who could calm her down. It took her a while to make friends and adjust to her new life at the Salvatore Boarding School.

Bonnie smiled seeing Stephanie slowly adjusting to her life with Alexander, she was also really suprised seeing Stephanie's ability to create golems. She smiled and said."She is going to grow up to be a really strong witch."

Alexander added."Yeah, to create golems unknowingly takes a lot of natural talent for magic."

Freya nodded and added."She needed to be guided carefully."

Hope gestures to Alexander with smile and said."She has the best teacher here."

Alexander smiled at her and saw eveyone agreed with Hope, while Lizzie scowled and commented."Without the Dopplewhore and Salvatore around to corrupt her, she will be just fine."

Josie agreed with her twin.

Rebekah, Kol and Kai commented in unison."Agreed."

Hope, Alexander Freya, Elijah, Klaus and Henrik silently agreed.

Bonnie and Caroline nodded unknowingly, they agreed she would be better without Damon or Elena's influence.

"How do you like my new dolls?" Stephanie asked with a smile.

Alex patted her head. "They're very good."

Seeing Stephanie happy made Alex smile, and Hope also got along well with her. It was good to see that the old Salvatore and Mikaelson enmity hadn't carried on to the younger generation.

"When am I going to attend school with you?" Stephanie asked.

Alex pinched her nose playfully. "You will when the time comes."

Stephanie pouted but then looked around and asked, "Where is your girlfriend?"

"She's at the school," Alex sighed, switching the topic quickly. "So, have you made any new friends?"

Stephanie frowned. "No, there's one girl named Jessie who plays with me."

Alex nodded, happy to see she was slowly making friends and behaving like a child again. It saddened him to see her crying because of her nightmares. A part of him felt guilty, knowing he had a hand in her parents' deaths, ensuring they couldn't reveal anything about Hope or him. But he reminded himself it had to be done. Leaving Damon and Elena with that information about Hope was not ideal; he was sure Damon would have used it to get back at them.

"The guy was petty as hell," Alex thought, frowning.

Caroline nodded and said."Ohhh he was on petty bastard."

Bonnie agreed.
