Chapter 12 • Sleep Over

* Wednesday *
* Isla-Wren's POV *

I wake up to Mrs Greenwich screaming
Mrs Greenwich: Wake up, Wake up
So I grab my school uniform and go straight to the bathroom where I get changed then go back to my room where I ignore the girls' mean words and I pack all my stuff into my school bag which is only my pjs, my everyday outfit and Jeff then I put my bag on and go downstairs where I see Mrs Greenwich in the kitchen
Mrs Greenwich: Theres you tablets
She says pointing to the counter
Mrs Greenwich: And this is all of them to take with you tonight
I nod and she walks off so I put my tablets in my bag before taking them then I walk out the door and to the park where I go on the swing for a few minutes before heading to school.

School goes as normal, being picked on by the other kids all day, lessons, watching the boys play football, lesson then it's home time so I grab my bag then walk to the school gate where I see Lucy so I run over to her and hug her
Lucy: Hi Izzy
She laughs hugging me back
I pull away and wave
Lucy: shall we go?
I nod and follow her to her car where she helps me in then goes to her side and starts driving
Lucy: did you have a good day?
I nod deciding not to tell her the truth so I don't make her sad.
Lucy: That's good
It's a comfortable silence for the rest of the drive when we pull up to a cute family home
Lucy: Now this is an air BnB we are renting at the minute as we live to far away
I nod and Lucy gets out before going to my side grabbing my bag then helping me out and I hold her hand as we walk to the door then walk in where we are greeted by a cute little doggy who I presume is Nala and then Kiera
Kiera: Hiya guys
I smile and wave at her then hold Lucy's hand again
Lucy: Shall we show you your room?
I nod
Lucy: Come on then
We go upstairs and into a bedroom which has a double bed in the middle and I look at Lucy shocked then hug her tightly before dropping myself onto the marshmallow of a mattress which makes Lucy and Kiera chuckle
Lucy: Do you want to get changed out of your uniform?
I nod
Lucy: We will be downstairs ok, come find us when you're ready
I nod and they walk out so I grab my bag opening it and getting changed into my everyday outfit then I grab Jeff and go downstairs to see Lucy and Kiera on the couch so I go over to them
Lucy: Come here you
I smile and walk over to her and she carefully puts me on her lap being careful of my arm and Nala jumps straight on the sofa cuddling upto us
Kiera: I think Nala likes you Isla
I smile and stroke her for a minute until Kiera asks me
Kiera: How much longer do you have the cast on for?
Isla-Wren: Six to eight weeks
She nods
Isla-Wren: Because he broke all three bones in my arm
Lucy: What do you mean he?
I freeze not realising I slipped up until now
Isla-Wren: nobody, I just got my words messed up
She nods
Lucy: Ok Iz, can I ask Nate about it?
I nod with a grateful smile
Kiera: Now what's your favourite film?
Isla-Wren: Encanto
She smiles
Kiera: I like that film as well
I smile at her
Kiera: would you like to watch Encanto?
I nod and she puts it on so I cuddle into Lucy as I watch encanto.

When the songs are on I am bouncing up and down and flapping my hands from happiness which makes Kiera and Lucy watch you with adoration.

As the movie credits go on Lucy says
Lucy: I'm gonna start on dinner now ok?
I nod and get off her lap
Lucy: Do you want to do something with Keira?
I nod and go over to Kiera which makes both of them smile
Lucy: Have fun
She says and walks away with Nala following her
Kiera: What would you like to do?
I shrug unsure
Kiera: Would you like to read a book?
I nod
Kiera: Let's go see what books there are
We go over to the bookshelf and I see the whole diary of a wimpy kid set and look at Kiera shocked
Kiera: They are yours, Luce said you like them so we got you the whole set
I smile with my eyes watering out of happiness
Kiera: Hey, don't cry it's ok, do you want a hug?
I nod and she gently pulls me in for a hug that's so warm and comforting.
After a few moments, I pull away
Kiera: So, which book would you like?
I point to the first one and Kiera grabs it
Kiera: do you want me to read it to you, you to read it to me or just read it yourself?
I point to her
Kiera: You want me to read it to you?
I nod
Kiera: ok, where shall we sit?
I go over to the sofa and she sits down so I sit next to her and she starts reading the book to me.

After probably 20 minutes, Lucy walks in just as I'm laughing at the book
Lucy: Are you having a good time?
I nod with a smile
Lucy: Dinners ready
Kiera: Up we get then
I get up then she follows putting the book down before we all go to the table and sit down
Isla-Wren: Thank you so much for the books
I say to lucy
Lucy: It's no problem, I'm your mum, it's what I do
I smile at her and look down to see carbonara on my plate and my face lights up as this is my favourite.
I look up as I hear laughing from both Lucy and Keira so I glare at them which makes them laugh more
Lucy: You're so cute munchkin
Isla-Wren: you remembered
I smile
Lucy: Of course I did
She smiles back at me and we eat peacefully.

After dinner,
Isla-Wren: I will be back in a minute
They both nod and I run upstairs and grab my tablets from my bag then go back downstairs to the kitchen where Lucy and Kiera are cleaning up but Lucy stops when I walk back in and she crouches down as I walk over to her
Isla-Wren: These are my tablets, I need some now
Lucy nods
Lucy: which ones and how much?
Isla-Wren: One of this and two of these
She nods and sorts out my tablets before grabbing me a glass of water and handing them to me so I take my tablets with the water
Lucy: what are they for?
Isla-Wren: Ones for my arm and the others for my sleep
Lucy nods in understanding
Lucy: What would you like to do now?
I shrug
Lucy: Do you want to watch some TV or play a game?
I decide on TV because I'm tired so I put one finger up and Lucy nods

Lucy: what would you like to watch?
She asks once we are sat on the sofa with me sat between her and Keira with Nala on kieras lap.
I shrug not knowing what there is
Kiera: shall we scroll on netflix?
I nod giving her a grateful look.
Lucy scrolls through netflix when I see Cupcake and Dino general services which catches my attention so I tap on Lucy's arm and point to that one
Lucy: This?
She asks pressing on it and I nod so she presses play and I cuddle Jeff and watch intensely fully concentrated.

It's now around 8 o'clock so Lucy pauses the TV
Lucy: It's bedtime now munchkin
I pout but get up
Lucy: You go get changed and we will be up in a minute
I nod and kiss Nala on the head then go upto my room and get changed into my pjs.
As soon as I'm changed, I put my other clothes away then hear a knock at the door
Isla-Wren: Come in
I say sleepily finally feeling tired and Lucy and Keira walk in
Lucy: You ready?
I nod and get into bed with Lucy tucking me in
Lucy: We are just next door so come wake us if you need anything ok?
I nod
Lucy: ok, good night munchkin
She says kissing my forehead then walks back and Kiera comes upto me
Kiera: Good night kiddo
She kisses my head then walks back
Isla-Wren: Goodnight, I love you both
Lucy: We love you too
Kiera: Sleep well
They turn the lights of and leave with me falling asleep immediately.
