Chapter 10 • Park

* The next day *
* Isla-Wren's POV *

I wake up to Mrs Greenwich screaming
Mrs Greenwich: It's time to wake up
Obviously having forgotten that it's an inset day so I snuggle into Jeff and blanky and just lie there thinking about Lucy and what life will be like with her and Kiera.

Around 5 minutes later, I feel water drop onto my face which makes me shoot up to see the girls I share a room with laughing hysterically and I quickly grab my everyday outfit and Jeff before running to the bathroom where I undress then use a towel to dry myself and my cast as best I could then when I'm dry, I get changed then continue to try and dry my cast.

After 15 minutes, I decide that it's dry enough so I grab Jeff and my pjs before going back to my room and putting my PJ's and blanky away then I go to Mrs Greenwich's office and knock on the door
Mrs Greenwich: Come in
I open the door and she gets up so I follow her silently as she gets my tablets which I take then I go to the garden and practice my kick ups and other tricks with the football.

At what was probably 10 o'clock Lucy's car pulls up and she gets out before walking over to me
Lucy: Hiya Isla-Wren
I hug her as a hello
Lucy: Are you ready?
I nod
Lucy: Is there anyone I need to speak to before we go?
I shake my head no
Lucy: Ok, do you want to go to your park or a park that I've found with ducks and things aswell?
I point to her
Lucy: Ok, let's get in the car then
We walk over to the car and she opens the door for me letting me in and then straps me in before going to her side and we start driving.

After 10 minutes, we arrive and pull into a parking spot then Lucy gets out and goes to my side helping me out and I then hold her hand with my good hand whilst also holding Jeff in that hand aswell.
Lucy: Shall we go for a walk first?
I nod
Lucy: Come on then
She smiles jokingly and we start walking.
There's a lake with lots of ducks, geese and swans so we walk around and look at all the birds.

After we have walked around the lake, we stop at the cafe
Lucy: What would you like?
I point to the oreo ice cream sandwich
Lucy: Ok, grab that then
I grab that and Lucy grabs a coke before we walk to the till and Lucy pays
Lucy: Come on, let's sit on a bench and watch the birds
We go and do exactly that.
Lucy: are you enjoying it?
I nod with a big smile and she ruffles my already messy and tangled hair
Lucy: Is that yummy?
She asks seeing that I've already eaten half of my ice cream and I give her a big nod.
We sit in a comfortable silence as I finish my ice cream and she finishes her drink.
Lucy: Park time?
I nod excited and we put our rubbish in the bin then go to the play area with me immediately running to the swings and jumping on one of them already swinging by the time Lucy catches upto me and she sits on the swing next to me
Isla-Wren: Race
Lucy looks at me shocked
Isla-Wren: who can go the highest
She quickly changes her face to a massive smile
Lucy: you're on
We both go as fast as we can and I get higher quicker then stay the highest
Isla-Wren: I WIN
Lucy chuckles
Lucy: You did

We swing for a bit longer till I stop then get off cautious of my arm with Lucy following
Lucy: Where to now?
I run over to the basket swing with Lucy following me
Lucy: Do you want me to push you?
I nod
Lucy: Go on then
She smiles
Isla-Wren: Can you help me in?
Lucy: Of course
She picks me up and puts me in
Lucy: Ready?
I nod and she starts pushing me.

We do this for 15 minutes before a group of kids come over
Isla-Wren: Stop please
Lucy nods and stops it helping me out and we start walking with Lucy checking her phone
Lucy: It's time to head back now Isla-Wren
Isla-Wren: You can call me Isla or Izzy or Iz or something if you want, you don't have to call me Isla-Wren
Lucy nods with a big smile
Lucy: Ok Izzy
I smile at her and we walk to the car with Lucy helping me in them we head back.

When we get back, Lucy helps me out then I grab her hand holding it before walking inside to be met by some of the kids watching us and looking at me with dirty looks and Nate who escorts us to Mrs Greenwich's office, shutting the door and blinds before sitting down and Lucy sits down so I sit on her lap which feels really warm and comforting and safe.
Nate: So how was the park?
I give him 2 thumbs up with a big smile
Nate: That good?
I nod furiously
Nate: What about you Lucy?
Lucy: It was good, I really enjoyed it
I look up at her and she smiles at me then kisses my head
Nate: so the next steps are for you to go to Lucy's overnight
I smile wide and flap my good arm excited
Lucy: I take it you like that idea Iz?
I nod looking at her with a smile
Lucy: When can we do it?
Nate: Whenever, when would you like to do it Isla-Wren?
I look around trying to find some paper which I can't find
Lucy: Do you want to write it down?
I nod
Lucy: Here you go
She passes me her phone which is open on the notes app and I type
" I have football training tomorrow so Wednesday "
Then hand it to Lucy
Lucy: I have football training tomorrow so Wednesday
Nate nods
Nate: Is that all good with you Lucy?
Lucy: Absolutely
She nods
Nate: Do you want Lucy to pick you up from school?
I nod furiously
Nate: Is that ok with you Lucy?
Lucy: Yes of course
Nate: Well that's sorted then and I will be here to meet you on Thursday when you come back so we can see the next steps from there
Me and Lucy nod
Lucy: Well, I better go then
I pout and look down to which Lucy brings my head up with her finger
Lucy: Hey, you get to come and have a sleepover at mine on Wednesday, you can see Kiera again and meet Nala my dog
My face turns excited and Lucy laughs.
I get off Lucy's lap and we walk to the door before Lucy crouches down and we hug with me Whispering in her ear
Isla-Wren: I love you
Lucy: I love you to Izzy
She whispers back and we let go
Lucy: See you on Wednesday Izzy
I wave at her and she goes then I turn around to go upstairs and see all the kids there
Angelica: You really think she loves you?
Jayden: That's stupid
Poppy: She never wanted you, she gave you away
I put my hands on my ears to block out their taunts and bullying and run upstairs to my room jumping into bed, hiding under blanky and crying into Jeff wanting nothing more then to go and live with Lucy now.
