I wake up at 7am having hardly slept all night so I grab my everyday outfit before going to the bathroom and getting changed and brushing my hair as best I could then I go back to my room put my PJ's and blanky away and grab Jeff then go downstairs to be met with Mrs Greenwich Mrs Greenwich: Tablet time I nod and follow her into the kitchen then take my tablets as she walks out then I go outside and straight to the park with the football and I play a bit of football and swing.
It's now 11:35 so I start walking back home.
When I get there, I drop the ball in the garden and walk inside to be met by Nate Nate: are you ready? I nod Nate: Come on then We get into his car and drive the 10 minute drive to the local cafe.
When we get there we are 2 minutes early and Lucy isnt there yet so we get a table at the edge near the door and wait.
A minute later, I see Lucy walk in and she spots us immediately and Nate gets up walking over to her and starts talking to her before they come over to me with Nate sitting next to me and Lucy sitting opposite me Lucy: Hi Isla-Wren She smiles at me and I smile back nervously Nate: What would you both like? I open the kids menu and point to the carbonara and a banana milkshake Lucy: I will have a crispy chicken wrap and a coke please and please let me pay She says handing him her card and he nods then walk away. Lucy: Have you had a good day so far? I nod Lucy: oh I just remembered She goes into her tote bag and pulls out a notebook and pen Lucy: I brought this incase you wanted to communicate with me through writing She says handing it to me and I see it has a giraffe on it like Jeff so I smile at her as a thank you. Her being very supportive and understanding really shocked you as nobody else ever has. I grab the pen and open the notebook writing " Why did you leave me? " I hand it to Lucy and see her take a deep before responding I had you when I was young and I did t believe I could be a good mother to you so me and your father decided that he would look after you as a single dad but when you were 9 days old, he put you into the system without telling me and I didn't know until U were 4 and I have tried to find you ever since but didn't have any luck till I saw you at football. I nod taking a moment to take it all in, she didn't leave me that was my dad and she wants me, she was looking for me. Just then Nate walks over and sits back down next to me and I grab the notebook and write in it " Nobody's ever wanted me before " I hand her the notebook Lucy: I hope you don't mind but I got her a notebook and pen so she could communicate with me She says to Nate who smiles and nods Nate: That's amazing
Then I see Lucy's eyes water as she reads what I put Lucy: Well I want you, you're my beautiful little girl She says smiling at me and that makes me smile widely The waitress comes over with our drinks Lucy: Thank you Nate: Thank you They say at the same time when the waitress leaves and I take a sip of my milkshake Lucy: Is it good? I nod my head with a smile Lucy: can I ask what your hobbies are, what you like to do? I nod and write down " Football, swimming, going on the swings at the park, reading " Then I pass it to Lucy who reads it then looks up at me with a smile Lucy: what's your favourite book? She asks passing me the notebook back and I write " Diary of a wimpy kid " Then hand it to her which she reads Lucy: Theyre good books aren't they I nod with a smile and she hands me my book back and I write " I read them at school as they have the whole set in the library " Then hand it to Lucy Lucy: So you've read the whole set? She asks shocked and I nod with a giggle which makes her smile big Lucy: Do you have any at home? I shake my head when our food comes over so we eat in a comfortable silence.
Once we've finished eating, I write this in my notebook " Can I go home with you? " Then hand it to Lucy who reads it then looks at Nate Lucy: Can I show Nate this? I nod and she hands it to Nate who reads it then looks at me Nate: I told you this before Isla, you can't go yet but I am comfortable for you to have a meetup without me next I then look to Lucy a bit disappointed but also happy and she looks happy Lucy: I'm free whenever at the minute so whenever you want to I can I nod then write down " Tomorrow " Then show Nate which makes him chuckle a bit Nate: You will have to ask Lucy then He says handing it back to me and I hand it to Lucy Lucy: Do you not have school? Nate: It's an inset day tomorrow right? I nod Lucy: I can do that then, would you like to go to the park together? I nod with a big smile Nate: what sort of time so I can let Her care worker know? Lucy: What about 10? I nod Nate: That sounds great, I will be there when you get back so we can see what the next steps are Me and Lucy nod Lucy: I have a question for you Isla-Wren I nod Lucy: So, my girlfriend is picking me up from here and I was wondering, it's ok if you don't want to but I was wondering if you wanted to meet her I look at her nervously Lucy: Her names Kiera, would you like to see a picture? I nod and she shows me this picture on her phone

Lucy: She's really nice and me and Nate would be there the whole time. But you don't have to at all. I think about and I know I'm gonna have to meet her at some point so why not now when I have Lucy and Nate so I take a deep breath before nodding Lucy: Are you sure? I nod Lucy: ok, would you like to meet her here or at the car? I hold up 2 fingers to show that I want the car and Lucy nods understanding Lucy: That's fine, let me message her She types some things on her phone then looks back up at me with a smile and I grab the notebook writing " Can we do it now? " Then hand it to Lucy who nods Lucy: Yeah, if you're ready? I nod and we grab our stuff, me grabbing Jeff whilst Lucy grabs my notebook and pen and we walk out following Lucy to a car when someone gets out Lucy: Hiya Babe Kiera: Hiya Luce They kiss then look at me Lucy: This is Isla-Wren I see Keira's eyes light up Kiera: It's so nice to meet you She says crouching to my height and I give her a shy smile and stand closer to Lucy already feel strangely safe with her and she crouches down to my height aswell Kiera: My name's Keira I nod and look to Lucy who has a reassuring smile on her face and I point to the notebook Lucy: Do you want to write something? I nod so I put Jeff's tail in my mouth then Lucy holds the notebook as I write this in it " Do you play football aswell? " Then Lucy turns it to Kiera Kiera: Yeah, I play football aswell, I'm in the lionesses with this one She says pointing to Lucy which makes me giggle which then makes Lucy and Kiera smile brighter Nate: Right, we need to go now Isla I pout sadly Lucy: Come on, your gonna see me tomorrow and we can go to the park I nod with a small smile still sad that I've got to go and I hug Lucy which I think shocks her as she takes a moment before enveloping me in her arms and kissing my head. Then I go over to Kiera and give her a high five Lucy: Bye Isla-Wren Kiera: Bye We all wave as I follow Nate back to the car sadly and we make our way back silently.
When we get back, I go upto my room and sit on my bed thinking about my day and excited for tomorrow.
