Samantha: This following contest is scheduled for one fall! And it is for the Intercontinental Championship!!

William and Gunther are seen standing in their respective corners, as they await their introductions.

Samantha: Introducing first, he is the challenger, from Atlanta, Georgia, weighing in at 220 pounds, The American Rebel! WILLIAM RHODES!

William poses for the crowd getting a loud reaction while keeping his eyes fully locked on Gunther.

Samantha: And his opponent, from Vienna, Austria, weighing in at 297 pounds, representing Imperium, he is the Intercontinental Champion, GUNTHER!"

Gunther holds the Intercontinental Championship high as he stares at William before he gives the championship to the ref.

Michael Cole: You gotta what is going through the mind of William. If he wins, this Friday on Smackdown, he could have the chance to become a double champion as he faces Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Pat: I have a better, Cole. What happens if he wins on Friday? What does that mean for Wrestlemania?

Michael: I guess we're just gonna have to wait and see.

The bell rings, and the match begins with an intense stare-down between William and Gunther.

William and Gunther lock up in the center of the ring, testing each other's strength. Gunther's power gives him an early advantage as he shoves William into the corner. William, unfazed, steps forward and slaps Gunther across the chest, eliciting a loud "Woooo!" from the crowd.

Gunther retaliates with a vicious chop of his own, the sound echoing through the arena. The two men trade chops back and forth, neither willing to back down. William gains momentum, bouncing off the ropes and hitting Gunther with a dropkick, sending the champion staggering.

Gunther comes back as he goes for a closeline but William ducks underneath it, turns Gunther around and hits a spinning heel kick, knocking Gunther off his feet down to the mat. Gunther immediately rolls out of the ring, as William measures him before bouncing off the ropes and taking Gunther down with a suicide dive.

William stands as he fires the crowd up, as they cheer and he rolls Gunther back into the ring. He slides in immediately going for the cover but only gets a one count.

William picks Gunther up as he attempts an Irish whip, but Gunther reverses it, sending William into the ropes. As William bounces back, Gunther catches him with a big boot. Gunther picks William up by the back of his neck and immediately delivers a chop, as the crowd gasps at the sound of it.

Gunther immediately goes for the cover, but William kicks out at one as Gunther doesn't waste any time and transitions into a headlock, trying to wear down William. The crowd rallies behind William as he fights through the pain, inching his way towards the ropes to break the hold.

With a burst of energy, William manages to grab the bottom rope, forcing the referee to call for a break. Gunther releases the hold but stays aggressive, pulling William back to the center of the ring. He delivers another chop to William's chest and then picks him up and goes for a suplex. However, William blocks it, countering with elbows to Gunther's ribs, causing him to release his grip.

William pushes Gunther off before hitting him with a chop of his own, getting another "Wooo" from the crowd. He hits another chop, and another before delivering a snapmare, followed by a kick to Gunther's spine.

William picks Gunther up and sends him into the corner as he runs but gets a boot to the face for his efforts. Gunther lifts himself up to the top turnbuckle as William turns around and Gunther drops down, taking William down with an axe handle.
