He wakes up to the sound of the front door closing shut again.

The apartment is quiet, way too quiet for his liking, but it's just like every other day.

It's never been different, or at least that's what it feels like.

His tired eyes glance to the clock on the wall opposite of their bed.

It's 5:30 a.m.

He sighs.

He's tired but he can't sleep anymore.

He's exhausted but he can't relax now.

He honestly doesn't want to text Seonghwa now, too scared to see if he'd ask why he's up so early since he knows what Hongjoong's job is.

Still, he checks his notifications and sees that there's no new ones.

He locks his phone again and decides to stand up.

There's no use to stay in bed, he tells himself. He needs to work anyways.

So, he walks up to his own laptop, turns it on, clocks in and starts working.

It's 8 a.m. when his phone pings with a new notification.

He looks at the screen and smiles softly when he sees the message.

It's a 'goodmorning' text from none other than Seonghwa.

He's giddy when he texts one back, and he's giddy when Seonghwa asks him about his plans for today.

He honestly doesn't say much, just says he needs to work.

Seonghwa also has to work, he says, and then he has to go grocery shopping since all he has left at home are way too many noodles and no meat.

Hongjoong chuckles at that and taps away on the screen.

They text all day, even in their lunch breaks and Hongjoong feels content.

Until he glanced to the side and notices an old picture of him and Mingi hanging on the wall.

It's old, god, made maybe six years back when they had their first Meet-Up.

They were sitting on a bench in some park, he thinks, holding up a peace sign.

He doesn't remember it, if he's being honest now.

It's too long ago and honestly? He feels nothing looking at it and he never did.

He looks back at the phone in his hands and his stomach turns.

What would Seonghwa say if he found out that Hongjoong's in a relationship?

Would he leave him?

Would he look at him with disgust?

Would he think he's a liar?

Or would he believe him when he tells the truth?

The truth.. that he doesn't love Mingi and actually never did.

The truth... That he starts to fall in love with Seonghwa and wishes he could be confident enough to tell him and to leave Mingi.

Would he understand the reasons he still didn't leave?
