I couldn't save her...

I was.. Too scared...

.   .   .

Sukiya had smiled slightly; a small chuckle escaping her lips as she looked over to Sarada, her best friend. It was an oddly sunny day. The sun was out and the clouds didn't blocked out its rays. It was a pretty hot day, so they had decided to go to the beach instead of training...

“So, Sukiya, what do you think?” Sarada called to the blonde girl, drawing her attention. She blushed slightly as she saw Sarada smile. The raven-haired girl was in red swimwear – it her favorite color. Sukiya wasn’t a fan of the color, but it matched Sarada’s pale skin well..

“It – uhm, it looks good on you.” Sukiya said softly.

“Really?” Sarada replied, her blushing slightly as she chuckled, “well, you don’t look so bad yourself.”

The blonde girl blushed more, thinking of a reply; was Sarada flirting, or was it just a compliment? Sukiya couldn’t tell, but it was very endearing to her.. While the blonde girl was deep into thought, Sarada had already jumped into the pool.. The raven head was waiting for the blondie, her skin getting accustom to the cool water of the pool.

“Sukiya, get in the pool! I've been waiting all week, y’know,” The raven-haired girl pouted, her splashing the blonde girl with water. Sukiya flinched, chuckling afterwards.

“I’m coming, you don’t gotta be so impatient,” and with that, Sukiya took her scrunchy from the back of her head, letting her hair flow down to her back; Sarada stunned by how soft and silky it looked, how – no, she mustn’t be that way... She only liked her platonically, right.? Anyhow, the blonde girl had sat at the pool side, slowly getting in. However, Sarada had gotten playful – pulling Sukiya by her hands into the pool, creating a splash. The two girls laughed, playing in the pool with Boruto.

“I’ll be right back,” The blonde Uzumaki said, him getting out of the pool and running to the pool bathroom. With that, Sarada decided to make a move – her wrapping her arms around Sukiya’s waist, guiding her behind pool floaties and toys to cover them up from the public. Their parents would pick them up later, so the raven-haired girl had a bit of time..

“S-Sarada, what’s up..?” The blondie asked as she blushed, the raven-haired Uchiha blushing as well. The said raven’s face got closer to the Sukiya’s, her body pinned against the pool wall as the Uchiha progressed, their faces about an inch away, “Sukiya, I-”

“Guys, where’d you go?” Boruto asked as he searched the pool, making the blonde girl blush more. Sarada moved away from Sukiya, grabbing her hand before swimming back to Boruto – both red in the face and jumpy.

“We were just playing over there.”

.  .  .

In the morning, the three prepared for the mission. Unlike most, Naruto; the 7th, had given them a B-ranked mission, it pretty deadly for their age. All of them seemed to be skilled in both their mind, and body – ready to take on anything, not taking any bullshit from anyone...

“This is a B-ranked mission, but we’re just taking a scroll over to the Sand?” Boruto asked, holding the rolled up paper as he eyed it.

“It’s either this or cutting grass, besides – I really think you three’ll pull through, y’know!” Naruto replied, smiling softly as he sat up in his chair, cheerful as ever.

“Bullshit.” Sukiya said, her face covered by her outfit. It was inspired by Shino’s, only with a few changes in it.

“Sukiya, language!” The 7th exclaimed, taking his gaze from only her to the three of them, “I really trust that you guys will pull through, I wouldn’t lie to you about that.” The older Uzumaki said, Boruto sucking his teeth in annoyance.

.  .  .

The three set off for the mission, them now in the woods. They jumped through trees, watching out for traps as they were on their way to the Sand Village – it about a day or so away. With that in their heads, they decided they needed to be as fast and as efficient as possible in order to get back in twenty-four hours; them slowly getting tired as the sun beamed down on them.

“Can’t we take a quick break...? I’m tired!” Boruto suggested, panting as his legs grew more and more tired; and so did everyone else’s – so, they agreed to stop when the sun set.. Once it did, Sukiya set up a tent, hammering it into the ground as Boruto and Sarada started the fire by rubbing sticks together. Once they finished, they crawled into the tent and laid down, staying close together as they fell asleep, waiting for tomorrow’s events.
