𝐀 𝐔𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧 - 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐨 𝐎𝐂

Chapt. 1

Sukiya woke up – her feeling arms around her waist as she shifted slightly.. She then heard an annoyed grumble, the person tightening the embrace. The blonde girl blushed, realizing it was Sarada; the raven-haired girl’s head in her chest as she kept her arms around her waist, her arms warm. Sukiya shifted slightly, Sarada turning over, the blonde girl now under the raven-head.

“Uhm, Sarada..?” She asked, her voice soft as she looked at the sleeping girl. The said Uchiha awakened, her eyes fluttering open slowly. She looked at the blonde girl, smiling softly; a sight that was barely seen by anyone... She was an Uchiha, after all.

“...what time is it?” Sarada replied with a question, her in between the legs of Sukiya’s. They both blushed, their cheeks red as the raven-haired girl moved away, them looking away ackwardly. Boruto opened the tent, shining in the sun’s ray, them squinting in their mostly groggy states.

“Good morning, you two!” The Uzumaki said, a smile on his face.

“What do you want..?” Sukiya asked, her tone obviously afflicted with irritation. She and Sarada crawled out of the tent, their eyes not yet adjusted to the sunlight.. The blonde girl puts her headband across her waist, and the raven-haired girl ties it around her forehead. Once they do that, the three have a small breakfast – the fish they've caught and cooked on the fire, along with berries from the bushes.

“Are you sure this is safe?” Sarada asked, her face concerned as she looked at Boruto eat handfuls of red berries. The blondie shruged, gobbling them down as Sukiya watched with a sigh... She became worried, the berries oddly similar to poisonous ones.

“My face feels funny...” Boruto said, his face swelling up as he stopped eating. The two girls got worried, tired of the boy’s stupidity.. They looked at him with disappointment, Sukiya slightly irritated.

“We told you that you shouldn't eat them, dumbass!”

“I didn't think you were serious..!”

“Of course we were!!”

[Sukiya’s POV]

It's been a hot day; beads of sweat coming down our foreheads due to the sun’s deadly rays.. We’ve been walking for a few hours now, stopping to only eat or take breaks – damn, my feet are killing me..! I hear Sarada groan; her stomach growling as it became clear that all of us are starving.

“I think we should stop for today, it's too hot!” Boruto said, him sitting down under a tree. I looked at Sarada, but she shook her head..

She wanted to keep going? But, why...?

“We... We have a time limit – Naruto-Sama wants us back by tomorrow,” She said, her face was flushed from the heat. It looked cute on such a girl like her; adorable even. I almost wanted to touch her face, but I didn't know if she’d like it.

“I'm starving, damn it!” Boruto argued, him reaching in his bag for food. I could tell Sarada was furious, her eyebrows furrowed and her fists clenched – I almost thought she was gonna hit me for a second.. Sarada and Boruto started arguing, the topic changing from food to “lazyness at home”? I had no idea what they were talking about, but I didn't want to hear it any longer.

“Alright,” I yelled out, my voice afflicted with irritation and frustration. I looked at both of them with a glare, mainly looking at Boruto, “it’s hot as hell out here, and you argue?!”

I sighed, calming down slightly. They seemed to have shut up, listening to what I had to say. I closed my eyes, turning away slightly; my hair blowing in the wind as it cooled the heat of the day... Once I was calm enough, I opened my eyes as I spoke softly.

“Like Sarada said – we do have a time limit. It's best we continue and only stop if we have to.. Do you understand.?” They seemed to see where my mind was, as they nodded in compliance.. We continued on our agonizing journey; my head feeling dizzy as we continued – and continued, not approaching a single patch of Sand... My throat was dry; we ran out of water about an hour ago – I think we might just die here... In the middle of nowhere. Not a lick of water; not a crumb to eat.... It was too much right now. I was dizzy, my stomach was growling, and my lips were chapped... I just can’t.... I can’t.. I can’t..!!

“I can’t... Take it anymore..!!” I dropped to my knees, my eyes watering as I screamed out in scarcity and desperation. I felt tears roll down my face; my head spinning as I slowly crawled – my body almost wanting to give out in my lack of water; lack of everything, really... I closed my eyes, my head throbbing in the beating sun – sand stuck to my skin like glue.. Why was it so damn hot..?!

“Sukiya... Sukiya, look!” Boruto yelled, him pointing to a small well; it filled to the brim with clear water that glistened and sparkled from miles away – my savior! I stood up, my body tired as I ran to it with hope and desperation; my head spinning as I tripped over my own feet... I fell face first, but I wasn’t stopping.

Not now! Get up...!

I stood back up; my legs weak and on the brink of collasping.. I sprinted as fast as I could, my life feeling as though I were in a race – it slowed down and narrow as my destination neared; that well was my red finish line... I needed to win, or I may not make it out alive.

Don’t give up... Not yet, at least..!!

I stood up from had fallen again; my legs heavy and on the brink of giving out due to the dry, hot weather.. I ball up my fists as I tear up. I gather up enough strength to run – Sarada and Boruto behind me. I knew they were suffering with me. I can’t let them down – not now, not ever.! I collapsed on the wall of the well, it hitting my stomach as I scooped some of the water into my hands, drinking and drinking. Sarada did the same; Boruto followed suit... We were all dehydrated, hungry, and sweaty.

“Hand me... Hand me the canteen.” Sarada said, her had dipped her head in the water to cool off – god damn, she’s hot... I stared at her; the way she gently held the canteen, how she looked without her glasses on. Just how she acted was enough to stir up this feeling inside me... It feels weird.. It feels good...

“Let’s get to the Kazekage’s office. We don’t have much time now..”
