Mina thought the best option for her would be to leave Beacon Hills. After everything that happened -the supernatural dead pool, saving Scott from becoming Kate Argent's little guard dog, dealing with her backstabbing uncle, and finally killing the harpie known as Lex - Mina thought she would have gotten her memories back. Sadly, they didn't.

She wasn't going to be gone forever. She couldn't leave her friends, her pack, behind. The night they arrived back in Beacon Hills, Mina trashed her place. All that work was all for nothing, only bits and pieces of what felt like a fever dream. Derek stopped her before setting the apartment on fire and promised that they'll find another way to regain her memories. The only way for that to happen is if they leave Beacon Hills, where he already had a lead from a werewolf in Washington.

Mina didn't want to deal with the goodbyes because she felt like she would have been overwhelmed and turned into a literal wolf again - just like Derek. During her fight with Lex, Kate snuck up behind her and almost stabbed her heart. While she was bleeding out, Lex went to attack Stiles until she turned into a silver/black wolf with red eyes. She landed on Lex before biting into his jugular.

"Ready to go?" Derek asked as he walked down the steps with his carry on.

Mina stood once she finished tying her shoes. "Yeah. We should get going."

Derek grabbed Mina's bag and they left their apartment. Mina opened the trunk of the car so Derek could set their bags in.

"We might be gone for a while," Derek pointed out after closing the trunk.

"I know."

"You sure you don't want to make any stops?"

Mina exhaled loudly as she crossed her arms. She isn't stupid to know that Derek meant to Stiles's home to at least say goodbye. Their Mark is telling her to stay, but if she did, then she would spend the rest of her life regretting how she didn't even try getting her memories back. Mina did cherish the memories she created with Stiles, now, if it isn't for that void in the back of her mind mocking her each day

"It's a long drive," she tried to excuse. "If we leave now, we should be able to beat traffic."

Derek sighed in disappointment. "I figured you would say something like that."

The heard tires wheeling against the gravel. Mina looked to see the Jeep stopping a few feet away. She glared at Derek and said, "You called him?"

"It was either that or have him call you every second until you answered," Derek argued. He didn't want to hear her phone buzz all the way up there.

Stiles turned off his Jeep and got out. The door slammed behind him as he quickly walked toward them. "You're leaving?" Mina sent another glare Derek's way. He rolled his eyes before excusing himself, claiming he forgot something inside. "Where you seriously not going to tell me you were gonna leave again?"

"That was the plan," Mina admitted. "Until my annoying brother decided to call you."

"Yeah, I was shocked at first because he never called me for...well, anything. The one time be does it's to tell me you guys are leaving. Where you really planning on ghosting me?"

"I'm not ghosting you. I was gonna call once we got to the hotel. I just...I just didn't want to see the look on your face."

"What look?"

Stiles's lips parted as if he wanted to say more. The way he was looking at her made it seem like she just kicked a puppy. The way she could almost hear his voice crack is what set her over the edge.

"That one."

"Well, I just got my girlfriend back only to find out that she was going to leave without telling me until she reached another state. Anyone else would think this is a breakup."

"Stiles, I'm not breaking up with you." She grabbed his hand. "Derek found a lead that could bring me my memories back."

"Is that what it's about?"

"Yes." Mina used her other hand cradle Stiles's cheeks. Her lips curled up into a small sad smile as her eyes began to water. "Stiles's, I love you. I always will. But I hate how I can't remember who my family is. Or how I couldn't remember your first goal. Or even when you first told me you love me."

Stiles opened his mouth a few times to object the idea of her remembering that he said he loved her because he was drunk. He didn't want her to remember the pain of her family murdered in the fire. He didn't want her to relive her pain.

"And it wouldn't be fair to you," Mina spoken so softly that he almost didn't hear it.

His brows crinkled in confusion. "Why wouldn't it be fair to me?"

"Because you still chose to love me even though I didn't remember you. And somehow, someway, you managed to reach me. If that's not love, then I don't know what is."

Stiles heart ached against his chest and Mina could feel it. He pulled her close enough for a tight embrace. His nose was buried in the crook of her neck as he wanted to remember the way she always smelled like green apple. One arm was around her shoulders while the other was around her waist. Mina closed her eyes and felt something wet hit her neck.

"How long are you going to be gone?" his voice cracked in sorrow.

"I don't know," the three words Stiles feared he would hear. One month or five years, it still gave him a set time until they could reunite. I don't know is just an endless possibility or even another way of saying I'm not coming back. "I'll try to hurry so I can come back to you. That's only if you want to."

"I'll always want you, Mina. Either you come back to me or when everything gets settled here, I'll come find you."

Mina smiled before cradling his face to bring their lips together. Stiles kept a firm hold on Mina, scared that once he let's go them she'll be gone from his life. It won't be forever, but it'll feel like an eternity for him.

"Besides, we could make long distance work, right?" Stiles asked hopefully once they pulled away. "We could video chat whenever we could. Uh, call each other every night -"

"Then I would have to break your phone for disturbing my sleep," Derek said as he appeared next to them.

Stiles looked annoyed. "You know, we were having a nice moment before you butted in. Some would say it's a bit rude." Derek rolled his eyes as he went inside the car. Stiles scoffed. "You sure a road trip with him is a good idea?"

Mina laughed as she grabbed his cheek and kissed the corner of his lips. "I'll message you once we get there."

"How about every 30 mins so no one can -" Stiles stopped mid way when Mina raised her brow at him. "Or when you get there is fine."

"Still can't believe I love you."

"Believe it because you're stuck with me."

The couple gave each other one last smile before going in their cars. Derek watched from the mirror as the Jeep pulled away from the parking lot. He turned his head at Mina once the passenger side closed while she let out a breath.

"You ok?" Derek asked since he overheard their private conversation.

Mina nodded before smiling at him. "Yeah. I will be."

Derek smiled back before turning on the car and left the parking lot. Mina watched the trees going by from the window. She rolled her window down to poke her head out. The wind blowing her hair back. Mina looked up at the sky to see a flock of birds flying above them just as they passed a sign...
