"things i forgot at birth"
Third PersonWhen Andrew woke up, it didn't take long for nurses and a doctor to flood his room. Asking questions that were the norm to make sure everything was fine and receiving answers from the teenager. Once he was finally able to be alone, his eyes glued to the window. Looking out towards the sky, trying to remain calm with every racing thought that crossed his mind, yet, it was short-lived as a man stepped in the room with Rachel trailing not that far behind.
"Mr. Stone?" A male voice spoke garnering the attention of the teenage boy who turned his head to see the man. "I'm Detective Reeves. Welcome back. Look I know you're still weak so I'll keep this brief. We've been told you were behind the wheel of the limousine when it left the bridge, is that true?" The detective asked as the boy kept his eyes trained on the individual in front of him.
Andrew didn't need to look at the girl to tell she was nervous. Nervous that he would say something that could end with her in jail.
"What happened?" Throwing another question to the boy due to his first one not being answered.
The truth was that they were in a fight and Rachel made the dangerous yet idiotic choice to try and grab ahold of the steering wheel leading to today. Yet, it was not in Andrew's heart to say the truth.
"It was my fault."
Rachel kept her sight on the boy lying on the bed as the detective tried to speak, "Sir,"
"I was the one going too fast and when I recognized it was too late." That was when Andrew moved his gaze to Rachel. "I had lost control."
The man gave a defeated look to Andrew before giving a quiet 'okay' and left the room, but not without a watchful glance toward Rachel.
Andrew wished the girl would have followed the man out, yet she spoke, "Hi." He rolled his eyes as he turned his face away from the redhead. No longer wanting to look at her. "Andrew- I'm so sorry."
"Baby?" He scoffed with a small shake of the head seeing the anxiousness behind the girl's eyes. "Every time, every damn time I give you the benefit of the doubt, I'm the one that pays for it!" His voice raised as he looked at her.
"I was angry and hurt-"
"And you don't think I was?" Andrew cut in, "I was the one who had to find out about your secret by eavesdropping. The one person I kept defending over and over again was the one everyone was right about. We're done." Tears started to form in her eyes as she listened to him. "You are nothing but a liar, Rachel." He uttered, not wavering his glare away from her. "Leave.
