Hitoshi Shinso sat in his room at U.A. High School, the weight of the day settling heavily on his shoulders. It had been a particularly challenging day of hero training—his Quirk, Brainwashing, had proven more difficult to control than usual, leading to frustration and self-doubt.
As evening descended, Hitoshi found himself overwhelmed by a sudden wave of anxiety. His heart raced, his breath quickened, and a sense of panic gripped him like a vice. He tried to steady his breathing, to calm the racing thoughts in his mind, but the fear seemed to only grow stronger.
Desperate for relief, Hitoshi stumbled out of his room, his vision blurring with tears of frustration and fear. He needed help—he needed someone to anchor him back to reality, to remind him that he wasn't alone.
In the hallway, he ran into Kaminari Denki and Bakugo Katsuki, who were on their way to the common room for their nightly video game session. They immediately noticed Hitoshi's distressed state—the rapid breathing, the trembling hands, the haunted look in his eyes.
"Shinso, what's wrong?" Kaminari asked gently, his voice laced with concern.
Hitoshi struggled to find words, his throat tight with emotion. He felt like he was suffocating under the weight of his anxiety, unable to articulate the turmoil raging inside him.
Bakugo stepped forward, his expression unusually soft as he placed a reassuring hand on Hitoshi's shoulder. "Take deep breaths," he instructed firmly, his voice a steadying presence amidst the chaos in Hitoshi's mind.
Hitoshi tried to follow Bakugo's advice, focusing on the rhythm of his breathing as Kaminari guided him to sit down against the wall. They formed a protective circle around him, shielding him from the prying eyes of passing students and offering him a safe space to gather himself.
"You're okay, Shinso," Kaminari murmured soothingly, his voice a calming balm to Hitoshi's frayed nerves. "We're here with you."
Slowly, the fog of panic began to lift as Hitoshi anchored himself to the sound of their voices—the steady reassurances, the warmth of their presence. He closed his eyes, allowing their words to wash over him like a healing tide, soothing the jagged edges of his anxiety.
Minutes ticked by in silence, broken only by the soft murmur of their voices and the rhythmic sound of Hitoshi's breathing slowing to a more steady pace. The panic attack began to ebb, leaving behind a lingering sense of vulnerability and relief.
"Thank you," Hitoshi finally managed to whisper, his voice hoarse with emotion.
Bakugo nodded curtly, his usual brash demeanor softened by a rare display of empathy. "Anytime," he replied gruffly, his gaze unwavering as he met Hitoshi's eyes.
Kaminari offered a small smile, his expression filled with genuine concern and compassion. "We're glad you're okay, Shinso," he said sincerely, his voice tinged with relief.
With their support, Hitoshi felt a surge of gratitude and strength. They had been there for him when he needed it most, their unwavering presence a testament to the bonds they had forged as classmates and friends.
As they helped Hitoshi to his feet, they walked together down the hallway towards the common room. The weight of the panic attack still lingered, but Hitoshi knew he wasn't alone—he had Bakugo and Kaminari by his side, ready to stand with him through the highs and lows of their journey as heroes-in-training.
And as they settled into their seats in the common room, the glow of the video game console casting flickering shadows across their faces, Hitoshi couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of hope. With friends like Bakugo and Kaminari, he knew he could face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that they would always have his back, just as he would have theirs.
