I couldn't believe what I'd just heard. I'd gone out to lunch with Inez when she told me. She told me over the summer James had been seeing another girl. When he was visiting some relatives in another part of the state he'd met a girl and spent the whole summer with her. Inez had pictures and I had to admit she was hot, like really hot but that was no excuse for what he did.

Time-skip

The next day I got to school early to switch my home room. Last night I'd texted him telling him we're over and had blocked him. He knew what he did and I wasn't gonna take anymore of his bullshit.

James's POV
When I got to school Y/n wasn't in our home room. I'd got a text from her last night saying that we are over. I'd sent her a bunch of texts asking her what I'd done and asking for forgiveness but she must have blocked me as it didn't go through. I don't know why she'd end it unless she'd found out about me and Taylor but it was just a summer thing and I'm only seventeen. It wasn't my fault, she wasn't with me. What did she expect me to do?

Time-skip to after school

Your POV

I was sat in my front room crying about James when I heard a knock on the door. Sighing I wiped the tears away and went to open it. When I did I gasped, in front of me was the girl James cheated on me with. My cheeks heated up as she looked even hotter in person but I tried to focus on who she was and what she had done.

"Hi my names Taylor, I'm the girl your boyfriend um went out with over the summer" she said awkwardly. I just stared at her confused, did she want to rub it in?
"Listen I- I'm really sorry, I had no idea he had a girlfriend. If I did I never would have gone out with him." I locked eyes with her, could she be lying? She didn't have to do this, I tried to read her to find out why she's doing this. I then realised I hadn't said anything to her, "Um do you want to come inside so we can talk about it." Shit why did I say that, she was the girl James had cheated on me with and I'd just invited her into my house.

She smiled at me and I felt a weird feeling in my chest. It felt kind of familiar, like something I'd felt when James was around but stronger.

"Do you want some water or something?" I politely asked as I had been raised. "Why are you being nice to me? Your boyfriend fucked me all summer" she replied bluntly. Our eyes met and I couldn't look away, it was like I was lost in her hypnotising blue eyes.

"Y/n? Sorry if I made you uncomfortable but I'm just confused that's all." God why was her voice attractive as well, shit say something Y/n anything.

"I um w-well I believe you didn't know and you um came h-here to apologise s- so I have no reason to be mad" I stammered hoping she got that. She took some time to process this before clearing her throat and talking again. "How would you feel if we got some revenge?" She stared right into my eyes before hers started looking me up and down.

"Like what?" I replied intrigued

"He's begging you for forgiveness right, saying he misses you and shit, well we could use that to our advantage"

"I don't see where this is going"

"We've got to make him jealous so you and I should fake date, that will leave him feeling guilty and annoyed"

Taylor said it so calmly like she didn't know what she'd said. The idea wasn't terrible it's just I was worried I would really fall for her and she was probably straight.

"Look if it makes you really uncomfortable we don't have to do it" she offered. "No I think that's a great idea" I said quickly. "Let's do it"

Over the next few hours me and Taylor took time to get to know each other, come up with a story of how we met and how to act clueless about each other. We also planned a party that everyone in school would come to including James to make him jealous. The time flew by and before I knew it, it was 10 pm. "Shit I better go" Taylor said as we heard my parents pull in the driveway. "And Y/n," she leaned down and connected our lips. Sparks flew and I felt butterflies in my stomach. She eventually pulled away and said "I've been wanting to do that since I saw you, it's different with you than it was with James and I think I like you, will you go ok a date with me, I real one?" My breath got caught in my throat I couldn't believe this was happening. "Yes!" I happily replied,

This truly was the start of something wonderful.
