Flashback Continues

Two days have passed since the scene I witnessed.

I can’t look at Aliya the same way anymore. Even if I had wanted her to be my girlfriend, I would never engage in something that is haram in my religion.

The necklace I gave her, with its engraved rose, symbolized innocence. It reminded me of her smile when I bought it... but now it feels like a cruel deception. This is not the Aliya I once knew.

I was lost in these thoughts, sitting in my room, when my older sister burst in, her voice frantic."Tahmeed! Dad had an accident!"

Panic flooded my veins. I felt as if the sky was collapsing around me. No, Allah, this can’t be happening! Nothing can happen to my Superman.

(From that scene.. It was hurtful to write this in first person. May Allah keep our parents healthy. Ameen)

All members of Tahmeed's family rushed to the hospital.

Though his mother was a strong woman, she could barely keep herself standing as she saw her husband lying in bed, bloodied and unconscious.

Shifa and Sarah were crying loudly, while Tahmeed fell into a heavy silence. He couldn’t believe his eyes. How could his Superman be in such a condition?

The doctors informed them that they had stopped the external bleeding, but they needed to perform brain surgery due to a concussion causing internal bleeding.

They took his father to the operating theater. Tahmeed’s mother signed the necessary documents like a living corpse.

It was afternoon, and the doctors had started the operation two hours ago. Tahmeed grew increasingly restless, praying to Allah for good news.

He felt the need for someone to lean on as his sisters clung to their mother. He didn’t want to disturb them.

In a moment of desperation, he called Aliya, forgetting everything else. He needed her presence; it was incredibly hard for him to remain sane in this situation.
