I got up from my seat, my heart racing as my eyes landed on the girl who had wreaked havoc in my life. The girl who dared to create a rift between me and my Tahu.

Maliha.

The name itself now tasted bitter in my tongue. She was the one who had taken my friendship for granted, betrayed me, and assassinated my character with her vile manipulation.

Before I knew it, my feet moved on their own, carrying me toward her.

As I approached, I saw Tahmeed walking back with a box of popcorn in his hand. Maliha stepped in front of him, blocking his path. Her eyes lit up with fake sweetness, and she reached out, attempting to grab his hand.

"Tahmeed," she cooed, her voice dripping with false innocence. "It's been so long. Can we talk for a moment?"

Before her fingers could touch him, I stepped between them, my presence cutting through her facade.

"Oh..It's Aliya! Long time no see..." she chirped, her voice a nauseating mix of cheerfulness and mockery.

I pressed my lips into a thin line but managed a polite smile. "Yeah, long time."

Turning to Tahmeed, I spoke softly, "Give us some time. Let me talk to her."

He raised his brows, concern flickering in his eyes. "You'll be okay?"

I gave his hand a light press and nodded. "Yeah, don't worry."

Reluctantly, he walked away, his steps slow, his head turning slightly as if to make sure I was fine.

The moment he was out of earshot, I turned back to Maliha, my polite smile fading into a cold glare.

"Cut the crap. Stop with your pretense. How dare you come near Tahmeed...near us?"

Maliha tilted her head, her expression feigning innocence. "What are you talking about? I was just meeting an old friend. What's wrong with that?"

My patience snapped, and I took a step closer, my voice low and sharp. "Looks like I really need to remind you."

Before she could respond, my hand struck her cheek with a loud slap, the sound ringing out around us.

"This is for breaking my trust," I hissed, my chest heaving. "I thought you were my friend. How could you do this to me?"
