CRESSIDA COWPER HAS BEEN EXILED.
Heart-broken and humiliated, she arrives at her Aunt's estate in Aberystwyth with no prospects, hungry ears and mouths already having spread what brought her such putrid disgrace from the highest possible standing in society in all of Britain. She truly does not believe there is any way out of this hole she has excavated for herself. This, she believes, is her life now; she will live out the rest of her days under a stale sun, waiting to be lowered into an early grave, no hand holding hers as she descends.
Meeting the elusive and brazen Miss Judith Wiegold, however, tips her life swiftly off her forethought path. And peculiarly enough, Cressida finds she may not hate the new road the leaves have revealed. Peculiarly, she finds she may not hate the Welsh countryside as much as she had anticipated.
