"How about this one?" Colby picked up a pumpkin, large and very obviously heavy. Perfect to fit over his fat- you meant rounded head.
"That should fit," you giggled and motioned for him to place it down so he didn't drop it and ruin it.
He rolled his eyes playfully at you, placing down the large fruit (yes, a pumpkin is fruit) into the small wagon next to your own.
You guys were going to be dressing up with pumpkin heads to take those cute photos you've been seeing all over social media.
After the photoshoot, you started wrapping up the materials you had brought into the forest. Starting with the expensive cameras, their stands, and some lighting equipment. As you loaded the last few items into the back of your car, you felt a pair of arms wrap around you.
"Y/N, this has been one of the best days ever, thank you for making me feel better," Colby smiled.
"Oh, not a problem, I'm glad I could help," you smiled and leaned your head back against his broad shoulders before pulling away, closing your trunk.
There was something lingering in the air, but you couldn't tell if it was hesitation or disappointment. Colby's eyes searched yours to find his own answer, but decided not to reply with whatever question he was going to.
"Hey," you took his hand and wiggled it around playfully, "you know you can always talk to me. Anything you want, this is a safe space. I'm a space safe - wait," you groaned.
Colby laughed, shaking his head before crossing his arms, looking down at you lovingly, "I don't know, I'm not good with these kinds of things," he sighed.
"Well, if you want to, I'll listen. If you're not ready, I wont push you," you gave him a lopsided smile before turning towards your car. You opened the back seat, pulling out a cookie and a ultra-white monster before returning to the conversation.
He graciously took the cookie from you, taking a small nibble as you opened the monster, taking a sip. You closed your eyes and grinned, the taste of the familiar energy drink was refreshing. You forgot to eat this morning and the only thing you packed was a monster, and now that you finally had a second to relax, you cracked out the life saver.
"I can't believe you have a freaking cooler in your trunk dude, for a single monster..." Colby chuckled before grabbing the can from you and taking a big gulp. He handed you back the can with a sly grin, knowing you didn't mind.
You guys had been friends for years ever since a meet-and-greet where he ended up swapping numbers with you from a free photo-shoot offer. You originally had feelings for him, but those quickly faded when you knew you had no shot with him, being famous and able to have anyone he wanted. You had also been dating someone at the time who ended up cheating on you and being pretty emotionally abusive and neglectful. Ever since then, you didn't even have a thought of dating Colby cross your mind again.
