Brielle sat in her third period English class bored as hell. She hated this especially because she had no need for school. She had no future. Her life comprised of mending hearts and hopefully repaying her debt. Not to mention Brielle had been through multiple schools and none challenged her. There was just something about living for centuries that made you smarter than the average teenager. She felt a flick on her cheek pulling her out of her thoughts. Her anger increased rapidly until she saw the culprit.
"What?" Avery asked incredulously. "Just trying to keep myself from dying of boredom in this dreary class. Plus you know I can never keep my hands away from you for long." The bastard had the audacity to wink. No wonder he wasn't high in the rankings for Angels with Good Behavior.
"If only it were that easy to kill you," she smirked.
Avery gasped. "Brielle Dawn Lavere! Here I thought I meant the world to you, and you're secretly plotting my death!" He dragged his hand over his heart and pouted at her with his dark brown eyes wide. She giggled. He was absolutely gorgeous even she had to admit it as she noticed all the girls sneaking glances at him in their classes. So far, they had periods 1-3 together: History, Gym, and English, but they separated for 4th him going to Chemistry, and Brielle going to her Advanced Biology class. However, they met back together for lunch and Math, to the immense joy of Avery because he despised math. Her last class was Visual Arts. She had been terrified that she would have to go through the day without Avery, but now she knew she should be relieved. Except he was slowly becoming her life-saver and only happiness, and even if they were best friends, she couldn't have that. She couldn't rely on someone because people had a tendency of leaving her. Instantly at the thought, her mood changed. Avery tilted his head noticing her frown. "Are you going to be okay today?" He asked concern etched in his features. For a second she didn't understand, but then it hit her making it hard to breathe. Today was the anniversary of Zane's death. She knew she hadn't forgotten, but because of everything it had slipped to the back of her mind. She took a deep breath.
"As okay as I can be." The bell rang and before he could show her any more pity or comfort, she gathered her stuff and began to exit. "I'll see you at lunch okay?" She hurried off to Biology.
"I'll miss you with every agonizing breath!" He dramatically called out. She waved him off, but smiled. She had no idea what she'd do without him. Walking down the hall, her thoughts filled with Zane, of how she had ruined his entire future by falling for him. Brielle promised no matter what she would never do that again. The biology classroom was filled with tables that had two seats behind each. Just perfect, she thought. She was going to have to have a partner.

Jason's mood had plummeted dramatically from the beginning of the day. Levi tried cheering him up, but he just wasn't in the mood. Not only had he had no classes with the mysterious girl from this morning, but he had basically volunteered to go to a party he had no intention of going to at a girl's house he wanted nothing to do with. Jason wasn't the guy who likes to party although he would go occasionally, but it would always end up with some drunken girl throwing herself at him no matter how much he tried to avoid it. None of his friends understood why he didn't just get with some girl when he had the possibility to choose between so many. Only Levi knew the reason, but he still didn't understand it. So the prospect of this party was dreary, and if he bailed now, he'd never hear the end of it. Then his mood continued to decline as every time he saw the girl she was being ushered around by the new guy she arrived with, and the girl acted as if he was the only one who existed ignoring the countless admiring looks she was receiving. He knew instantly he was jealous and basically for no reason. She wasn't his to be jealous over...at least not yet. But they looked nothing like family, so he had to assume it was something else.
