The wind blew through my hair as I sat in the grass below the old oak tree outside of the school. I was supposed to be eating lunch with most of the other kids, but I had decided to come and sit in my favorite spot today.
I hadn't been out here in 2 weeks ever since I met Rebecca. Rebecca was the high schools "popular girl" and she was in fact that. She was the head cheerleader, she could act, and she was so pretty that she could get any guy, or girl for that matter, if she wanted them. No one said no to Rebecca, that's why I was stuck with her for 2 weeks straight nonstop, just because she thought my outfit, which half of it belonged to my sister, was cute and she wanted me to be a part of her "clique".
Rebecca was a brat and I hated her, so I just stopped talking to her this morning. To my surprise she made me leave after she said I was childish and rude for not complementing her outfit when she walked over to me.
I was honestly so happy when she told me to leave, that I accidentally skipped down the hall way and knocked over someone's science project. Oops.
I heard the sound of crunching leaves and I automatically smiled and knew who it was. The crunching stopped and then immediately after, 2 hands were places over my eyes. "Guess who", a soft voice asked. "Oh, I don't know. Doctor Who?" She giggled and I was met face to face with my best friend Delilah.
"Hi", she said smiling ever so kindly. I swear her smile could cure cancer, it was that powerful. She always made me smile just by smiling at me.
"Hey. What are you doing here? It's lunch hour", I questioned her. She just smiled and replied,"I brought my lunch and decided to share it with you outside today."
She was literally the best. I couldn't ask for a better best friend, she understood me when no one else could and I would do the same for her. We stay up hours every night talking about anything and everything.
She opened her bag and got out 2 small packs of Oreos and 2 popsicles; one watermelon for me and one grape for her. My eyes lit up when I saw what she pulled out next: two warm corn dogs and a huge bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos. We both sat under the oak tree talking and eating like we always do, for about 30 minutes.
The bell for lunch to be almost over rang and we went back inside the building. We looked so awkward just walking back in the building while every one else was sitting there at "their" tables with their friends and boyfriends or girlfriends. The bell finally rang letting us be dismissed and Delilah and I waited until almost everyone was gone, then we left. We were walking and just casually talking when all of the sudden someone bumped into Delilah and me making us fall.
"What the heck?", I muttered rubbing my head, clearly trying to figure out who that person was and what just happened. I saw the attacker on the floor beside us and he was a guy.
I got up off of my butt on the floor, and went to help up Delilah and she told me she was okay, and to go check on the guy.
He looked our age, but shorter than De and taller than me. I'm kinda short for a sophomore, I'm 5'5 and De is 5'8. He had black hair and was wearing jeans with holes in them.
"Excuse me, but are you alright?", I asked. He looked up at me scared but then it went away. He had crystal blue eyes and freckles.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Are you two alright? I'm so sorry for bumping in to you", he said while getting off of the floor. I nodded then adding,"Oh yeah, um I'm Jo and this is Delilah"
De and the 'mystery boy' made eye contact and they didn't break away for what felt like hours, but was really just 30 seconds later. "H-hi. I'm Adam and you're beautiful", he said while looking at De still. 'I don't like this', I thought.
It's not the fact he wasn't saying it to me, it was the fact he was saying it to De and I really don't want her to fall in love with him and be heart broken and depressed again. I didn't see that smile for 3 months after that break up.
I'm not letting her go through that again so I need to stop this before it even starts, but I don't know how. I'll just pull her away for now and maybe they will forget about each other. Yeah that will work.
I looked at De and said,"Oh looky there De, we're gonna be late. Let's go", I tugged on her arm and glared at Adam,"Goodbye."
Hopefully that solved the problem. For now.-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/

Teen FictionEver since Summer was little girl, she loved stories. Especially fairytales. No, not the regular "the prince saves the princess and they live happily ever after" type. Those were "okay", but she loved creative ones like Pinokkio, The Little Mermaid...
