Tap. Tap. Tappity-Tap.
The sharp, crystalline, sound of metal hitting glass is what woke Silver from her wonderful world of dreams. Startled, Silver’s eyes shot open as she bolted up right and looked around wildly, jumping from her bed as if she had been bitten by a colony of ants.
Seeing nothing, she puzzled over the sound for quite some time, before a different sound sought for her attention, her head slowly turned towards her door, the sound of muffled voices reached her from down the hall.
Silver walked towards her door, her hand froze on the door knob, what if something bad happened? But her curiosity overpowered her instincts as her hand turned the knob and she stepped into the silent hallway, the voices became stronger and clearer as Silver stopped outside her parent’s bedroom door.
As her curiosity was burning too great for her to ignore and go back to bed, she gently placed her ear to the door to listen.
“Why would you take a baby from a guy in a cloak, in the middle of the night?!” she heard a high, hysterical voice yell. Silver knew immediately that the voice belonged to my blonde haired, petite mother.
“He told me I would be dead before morning if I didn’t follow his instructions and take care of the child, until it becomes of age, 16 years old.” The voice that replied was different. It was deep, and had a rolling tone to it; again she knew who it was immediately, my 6’3, and pure muscled father.
A mask of confusion over took Silver’s face. Who were they talking about? Was it some sister she didn’t know of? She twirled a piece of her natural silver colored hair, around her finger, deep in thought.
“Look, she’s sleeping now. Just go in her room, place a rag with chloroform on it, to her mouth. Wait until she stops moving, then I’ll come in and help you, get rid of it.” Silver’s mother spit the word ‘it’ like it was poison.
Silver’s head snapped up, as her fingers froze, the hair dropped back to her mane of messy silver hair. It was her they were talking about! Her eyes grew to the size of dinner plates as she realized they were going to ‘get rid’ of her.
Disbelief seemed to be the only emotion that ran through her system. She walked back to her room, and had crawled into her bed; before her brain even registered that she even moved her feet. Finally her brain seemed to just turn off from shock. Silver closed her eyes and drifted off into a peaceful sleep with no dreams.

Tap. Tap. Tappity-Tap.
For the second time that night, the sharp, crystalline, sound of metal hitting glass woke Silver up. Okay now someone’s just trying to piss me off, thought Silver as she flung her covers off her and stood with a purposeful aura, she was determined to find who thought it was their personal mission to fuck with her sleep.
She walked swiftly to her window where she assumed the sound was coming from. As Silver gazed into the darkness, she could just make out a shadowy figure making a swift escape from her yard.
For the second time tonight, curiosity enveloped Silver. Who was that? Why were they here? What do they want? Questions were swarming poor Silver’s head. She was so caught up in her thoughts of who was in her yard; Silver didn’t notice her door opening and a person slinking up behind her that is until their hand was around her mouth.
Her eyes widened as the person brought around their other hand, clutched in their hand was a rag. The faint smell of a chemical that drenched the rag wafted towards her nose. Chloroform.
Before the rag could reach her mouth and knock her out, Silver stretched her leg out and swung it back, connecting directly with the person’s groin. A deep, strangled scream was heard from behind her. The hands suddenly disappeared, as she whipped around to face her attacker.
Her father laid on the floor, groaning in pain, the chloroform rag beside him where he dropped it. Rage, red hot, flowed in her veins as the earlier conversation she eavesdropped on replayed in her mind. He was here to get rid on her. As Silver gazed her rage filled eyes down at her supposed father, the word seemed to have no meaning anymore, her bedroom door creaked, the sure sign someone else was about to enter. Having a hunch about who it was, with lightning speed she ran lightly to her closet and cracked the door.
Silver’s bedroom door creaked open as a small blonde head peered around the door. Silver waited about 5 minutes, and then the small blonde walked into the room and closed the door softly behind her.
“James?” she heard the blonde whisper softly into the darkness of Silver’s bedroom. The blonde, who Silver had identified as her mother, scanned the room. When her eyes landed on the groaning form of her husband, she ran over and knelt down and began checking him to make sure, James wasn’t hurt.
“James? James! Wake up!” Mandy, Silver’s mother, whisper yelled. She looked up and around the bedroom; just noticing that Silver wasn’t there. “Where’s the child? Where did it go?!” she whispered panicked to her husband.
While James struggled to string a sentence together, Silver, unnoticed, slipped out from the closet and creeped up behind her mother completely unnoticed. A bluish sliver aura seemed to surround Silver in a warm bubble, but it was like the Arctic Circle touching James and Mandy. Mandy turned around in bewilderment, what she saw put fear in the deepest corner of her soul.
Silver stood above her, the aura surrounding her, her eyes had turned a pure nickel silver color, with pure intent visible, a knife 8 inches long and pure steel with an ancient engraving on the blade down to the hilt.
Before Mandy could utter a word of horror the blade had sliced through her throat silencing any protests of horror. Silver then turned to James and stalked toward him. Still unable to form a sentence he tried to crawl away, as Silver slowly stalked toward him.
“Who dropped me off at your doorstep? What was his name? What did he look like? WHO ELSE WAS WITH HIM?!” her voice slowly rose with each question until she was at a deathly shouting level. James cleared his throat and through the pain he spoke of that night.
“He was wearing a black cloak that covered every inch of his body, even his face and shoes. He handed me the bundle in his arms and said and I quote, ‘Take this child, if you refuse you will die in 2 days’ time, keep her until she is of age, 16, then let her go. I will foresee if you try and hurt her, and I will awake the monster that resides in her.’ As he turned and walked away I saw a flash of white and a scarred half smile ripping up half his cheek, on his face. He said his name was Jeff. That’s all I know!” James said.
Silver slices his throat open, then goes on to gut both of them and spread their guts all over the walls with one message, “I will find you”. She left two silver roses on both bodies.
She take a silver cloak from her closet and wrap it around her black leather pants, black corset, silver belt and silver hair glinting with a rose in her hair. She walked to her mother’s room; she took the silver chain, and then walked outside. Once out there she focused all her energy on the chain and knife in her hand. A flash of blue, then a little knife charm appeared on the chain. Satisfied she clipped the bracelet around her wrist, the bracelet had a slight glow to it, from the magic Silver had injected into it.
She never looked back as she ran into the woods deeper than ever been explored. The trees were so big by the time she stopped they barley had enough room to sliver through the trunks. She climbed a tree and settled on a thick branch at the top of the tree, and fell asleep.
