Chapter Eight : Necrosis Of Doubt

I just stared at his sister waiting in the doorway. She was probably in her mid twenties with short brown hair with bright blonde highlights in it.

She's so pretty...

Shinchi's sister tapped her fingers against the doorway and I flinched.

She's a danger... Kill her..... Kill her now...

No! Why would I do that!

I looked up at Shinchi's sister and smiled as best as I could.

She smirked.

"So my brother's got a girlfriend now, huh? "

Shinchi turned bright red.

Huh? What's a girlfriend?
A friend that's a girl?

"Yes, I'm his girlfriend. " I said.

Shinchi gave me a werid look.

"What? I'm your friend and I'm a girl. " I said.

His sister started laughing like crazy which confused me even more.

"Oh god, she's a hoot! Come on in guys. " she said and we all went inside.

"I betcha Mr. Nice Guy right there hasn't even told you my name. " Shinchi's sister said as she started to slice some tomatoes in the kitchen.

"He hasn't. " I said.

She laughed.

"I'm Mato. And you are? " Mato said.

"Umm... Yusa. " I said.

"Cool name. You like tomato sandwiches?"

I like anything edible.

"Yes. " I said.

"Good, because that's what's for dinner. "

I took a bite out of the sandwich and nearly broke down in tears.

It's so good...

"Hey, Yusa, are you okay? " Shinchi said.

I looked up at him with puffy eyes and cheeks full of food and nodded.

I gulped the food in my mouth down.

"This is the best thing I have ever eaten in my entire life. " I said truthfully.

"You must've not eaten that much good stuff then. " Mato said.

I don't think she knows how true that statement was.

Shinchi stood up and bowed.

"I'm sorry. I need to go lay down for a while. My stomach's hurting. Probably because of Mato's poison sandwiches. "

I immediately dropped the sandwich in my hands.

"P-Poison? "

Shinchi gave me a worried look.

"Oh Yusa, I was just joking. They're not actually poison. Mato, Yusa can sometimes take things very literally so watch out. " Shinchi said and walked away.

Mato looked at me.

"You're werid. " Mato said bluntly.

"I know. " I said.
