Chapter Sixteen.
Bodysnatchers. Radiohead.

"Were either of you planning on telling us about this?!" Margot bombarded both Elsie and Finn who were trying to hurry off as soon as they stepped backstage.

Roman grabbed Finn's wrist, keeping him from leaving. "Hello?! What the fuck!"

"Hey!" Carolynn quickly approached the group seeing that they weren't taking the announcement well. "Hey, hey hey! Calm down!"

"Calm down?!" Tate said. "They've been secretly doing god knows what this whole time and this is how we find out?!"

"Guys, please, let them explain—" Dean tried to speak up, but Roman cut him off.

"What is there to explain? They were hiding it from us, obviously."

"Frankly, it's none of your goddamn business." Finn spoke up, his jaw clenched and fists balled up at his sides. Obviously, he wasn't in a good mood. He already didn't want to do the interview, and now that this fake relationship was being blasted all over the internet, it was real.

"'#FinnGravesNewGirl' is trending on Twitter right now!" Carolynn exclaimed gleefully, earning a harsh glare from all of her clients. "Sorry... Wrong time."

"Why are you, out of all people mad right now?" Roman said, his voice firm.

"Why the fuck are you mad dude?!" Finn replied.

All of this yelling was making Elsie uneasy. "Carolynn..." She shook her manager's arm who was scrolling on Tiktok, already seeing screen-recorded clips of the show on her feed. "Do something."

Carolynn was no help. She was too engrossed in how well her plan was going and how fast it worked.

"This doesn't concern you, at all!" Finn continued. "Just fuck off! All of you!"

"Excuse me?!" Margot didn't seem too upset at first, but now she was. "You can't speak to us like that!" She looked over to her own manager. "Dean!"

"Finn, calm down. You don't need to speak that way."

"Whatever, where's the car I need to get the fuck out of here." He was overwhelmed, and Elsie could tell. She had never seen him so angry. And he was a pretty angry person.

"Finn! Wait!" Dean called out to him. He sighed, looking at his clients. "Stay here, I'm gonna go talk to him. Carolynn, call the car."

Carolynn nodded, looking back down at her phone and ringing up the driver.

Elsie turned to the remainder of the group who all had disgusted or pissed off looks on their faces. "Guys, I'm sorry—"

"Don't, Elsie." Margot cut her off. "Not right now."

Elsie had no time to process anything that had just happened. She had opened her phone to a lot of texts and calls from Yarah, that she promised herself she'd get back to, and a lot of new Instagram followers.

The ride back to the hotel was completely silent. No music, or chatter amongst anyone. Just silence. Finn stared out the window the whole way there, his chin resting in his palm. It was silent when they arrived, and silent when they walked into the lobby until Roman spoke up, asking if there were any other available rooms for two for him and Tate. Originally, they roomed with Finn as usual. But they had clearly discussed with each other that they did not want to sleep in the same room as Finn tonight. He didn't seem to care all that much. He just wanted to be alone.
