It took only a dozen seconds for the earth to shake from slight shaking to violent vibration. The two men only ran to an open space not far from the house and had to stop because of the sudden increase in the intensity of the earthquake.
Liang Jin knelt on the ground, holding Ji Wenxin in his arms and protecting her tightly. Ji Wenxin leaned against Jin's chest, feeling dizzy and with a loud rumbling sound in her ears.
He heard the cracking of the earth, the collapse of houses, the panicked voices of people, and the turmoil of livestock and poultry. Ji Xiaotian whimpered and huddled in Ji Wenxin's hands, with helplessness in his eyes.
Although there were no tall buildings in Yangjia Village, the dust from the cracked ground was very choking. It was useless for Ji Wenxin to bury her face in the man's arms. He took out a mask with a filter and gave it to Liang Jin and himself in a daze.
Since Ji Xiaotian couldn't wear a mask, he took a few wet wipes and put them on the dog's nose. The dog was very well behaved and didn't move, allowing its owner to do whatever he wanted.
The two of them came out in a hurry, still wearing home clothes. Under normal circumstances, they would have been sunburned by the sun. However, the sky turned gray almost instantly, and the air was filled with dust and gray smoke. Normally, they were very irritated by the overly dazzling sun, and now without the sunlight, they were filled with panic.
It seemed like a century had passed - perhaps only a few minutes, or even longer. Liang Jin felt a lot of rubble hitting him. He tried to protect the person in his arms, but the little person under him was still trembling, and the hand that was grabbing his collar seemed a little weak.
"Baby..." Don't be afraid, Liang Jin wanted to say.
It was then interrupted by a sharp earthquake alarm.
I don't know if this earthquake started simultaneously around the world, but as soon as there were signs, messages were immediately sent to local areas. Perhaps a base station was collapsed by the earthquake, and many electric poles collapsed, making it impossible to communicate with many places.
In desperation, the higher-ups could only notify by telegram or radio. There were always broadcasts in Yangjia Village, and the loudspeakers were like noise-emitting machines, constantly sounding shrill alarms.
The shaking gradually stopped, and Liang Jin looked up. He realized that the money spent on the new house was not in vain, as it did not collapse in such an earthquake. The old house not far away had some cracks, but it was not a serious matter because it was not a load-bearing wall and could be lived in after a repair.
Ji Wenxin felt that his internal organs were being shaken and squeezed together, his stomach was churning, he was dizzy, had tinnitus, nausea and wanted to vomit. He was not conscious yet, he could only vaguely feel some rustling from Brother Jin's side. Then he took off their masks, fed him some water mouth to mouth, and quickly put it away.
She felt a little better after her throat became moistened. However, after Ji Wenxin was helped up, she still couldn't help pushing Liang Jin away and vomiting to the side for a while.
"Don't be afraid, baby. It's over." Liang Jin picked him up and walked to a relatively clean place to sit down. His face was full of worry. "Drink some more water."
Seeing that Liang Jin wanted to feed him some more water, Ji Wenxin said weakly with a bitter face: "I will drink it myself..."
He just vomited. Even if Brother Jin didn’t dislike him, he still disliked himself!
