Sorry if you guys got spammed with notifications, I went through and edited the first 2 chapters. I write a lot differently now than I did then lol. I hope y'all enjoy!! Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see in the story.
You had been sitting in your living room in front of the window all day, anxiously watching every car that drove by.
"Doesn't the mail normally run by now?"
Your mom sighed from the kitchen, "Most of the time it'll run by 5...it's only 1 sweet heart."
You frown and direct your attention to your phone, no text from Sero either...Would they just hurry up with the stupid letters?! You slump onto the floor, the texture of the carpet rough against the backs of your arms. Had you done enough during the exams? Supposedly some kid took out one of the big zero pointers on his one...he must be in a whole 'nother league.
You snap up as you hear the loud screechy brakes of the mail truck, "...holy shit."
You're sure the mailman has to know you're watching as he drops a stack of letters into the mailbox before driving off but you couldn't really find it within yourself to care. As soon as he moves onto the next house you practically sprint out of the front door, shakily snatching the letters from the mailbox. One of which felt big, and bulky...
Hopefully it wasn't some kind of rejection consolation prize.
--------
Sero groaned in frustration, "Stupid mail truck...stupid letters, taking foreverrrr!"
He plops onto a wooden stool off the island in the kitchen, barely listening to his parents chatter. he feels for his phone in his pocket before pulling it out to check it...nothing from you either.
"Niño, take a breath. You'll get it today, okay?"
He sighs and nods his head, "Yeah I know...I'm just...just-...Yeah I don't know"
His mom frowns and runs her manicured hands through his hair, "I know, but I also know my son! And how wonderful you are and how good of a hero you'll be one day! If U.A doesn't see that, then they've lost a future pro."
She gives him a comforting wink and a pat on the back before grabbing a Fanta from their fridge.
"Drink up, try to relax."
He smiles at her and cracks open the can, the cool orange flavor feels good on his dry tongue...yeah maybe he was nervous. He didn't know if he had proven himself enough, if he had showed off what he was capable of...who he was! Who he could be!...
And it would really suck if he didn't make it and Y/N did, or if she made it and he didn't. They had made a pretty solid team, maybe they could be training buddies or...ya know, just buddies?
He thought of your smile, your laugh...how badass you looked.
Maybe even...more than buddies.
He felt his face go warm but he snapped out of it when his phone vibrated.
You had gotten your letter.
--------
I snapped a pic of the acceptance screen, sending it to Sero accompanied with a text:
CHATROOM
Sero I fucking did it!!!
Have you gotten your letter yet??
You waited for him to reply for a few moments, your hands were still shaking. Your parents were on the phone with every relative possible, sharing the news.
You made it?!?!?!?
For real??!!
I made it!!!!!
For REALSIES!!!!!
You smiled as you read the flood of congratulatory texts, both from Sero and family, old friends. It was real, you had done it. You looked up at the hologram one more time, smiling like an idiot. You were gonna be a hero! A real one!
-------
Sero smiled at his phone, his hands moving faster than he could think. You had made it!!
Now, it was his turn.
"Who's got you smiling like that huh? Is this that Y/N girl you told us about?"
Sero's mom smirked, resting against the counter top now drinking a Fanta of her own.
"PFFFFFT whaaaaaaaat nooooooo....yeah."
He rubbed the back of his neck shyly, his cheeks tinged red once again.
"She just got her acceptance letter- or projection I guess. She got into 1-A! That's like top tier!"
His mom smiled watching Sero talk so passionately, "Oh wow! So you'll have a friend in class! That's good! She must be pretty strong."
"Yeah if we get into the same class! She's pretty strong, got this cool air quirk. And she roller-skates! Which I guess would be a support item."
Sero babbles on for a few more seconds before he hears a particularly loud truck screech to a stop in front of his mailbox.
"...holy shit."
"HANTA!"
"Sorry mom!" He rushes out the door to the truck, smiling at the mailman.
"Woah! Pump the brakes youngster! I don't think I've ever seen people be happier to see me then today, is the government giving out checks or something?"
He giggles to himself, pleased with his joke.
"No sir, I've been waiting on a letter from U.A actually. I'm guessing that's what other people have been excited about as well. Haven't been able to keep my eyes away from the mailbox."
The old man nods in understanding, "Ah I see, thank you for humoring me. I hope you get in son!"
Sero smiles and waves goodbye before rushing back inside, sliding back into his place on the stool. He sorts through the stack, anxiously digging for the envelope with U.A.'s seal. He holds his breath as he grabs the letter, carefully ripping it open.

You roll over onto your stomach on your bed, giggling like a maniac. You had both made it! And ended up in the same class!!
A few weeks ago you had been anxiously awaiting the exam and its outcome, worried about if you were really cut out to be a hero.
Now, you couldn't wait to get to ass-kicking and crime-fighting!
You glance down at your phone, seeing a flood of smiley faces and dumb memes from Sero.
And, it was nice that you weren't going in alone.
You send a few smileys back and some dumb memes of your own, spending the rest of your night texting on and off with Sero and replying to all of the congrats people had sent your way.
