Jungkook was indeed scared by the eerie melody he had heard from room 222 the night before, but he didn't have the courage to check it out. The next morning, he went downstairs to have breakfast. As he sat at a table, he started chatting with another customer named Jisung.

"So, which room are you staying in?" Jisung asked.

"Room 217," Jungkook replied.

Jisung raised an eyebrow. "Oh, then you're close to room 222."

Jungkook felt a chill run down his spine. "What's the fuss about room 222?" he asked, trying to sound casual.

Jisung leaned in closer. "Almost four years ago, a couple booked that room for their honeymoon. The wife had many bruises on her skin, but the staff didn't have the courage to ask the husband about it because he was so rude. Everyone liked the wife because she was beautiful and kind as a goddess, but she seemed scared of her husband."

Jungkook listened intently as Jisung continued. "After about a week, the staff found out that the wife had killed the husband with food poisoning and then killed herself. The husband had been abusing her for his own satisfaction."

Jungkook was horrified. "That's terrible," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jisung nodded. "It's said that the wife loved to sing and wanted to be a singer, but her husband wouldn't let her. People who stay in the hotel sometimes hear a soft, eerie melody coming from room 222. Two curious guests went to that room after hearing the melody and were found dead the next day."

Jungkook's heart pounded. "I heard a melody last night," he admitted. "It was coming from room 222."

Jisung's eyes widened. "That's why the room is cursed. The wife's spirit sings that melody."

After finishing breakfast, Jungkook and Jisung said goodbye and went to their respective rooms. Jungkook couldn't stop thinking about what Jisung had told him. The story of the cursed room and the melody haunted him, making him feel uneasy.

Jungkook spent the rest of the day trying to keep his mind occupied. He wandered around the nearby park, visited a local café, and even took a walk by the beach. Despite his efforts, the haunting story of room 222 lingered in the back of his mind. The melody played on repeat, making him shiver every time he thought of it.

Back in his room later that evening, Jungkook tried to relax. He turned on the TV, hoping to find something that would take his mind off the eerie events. But nothing seemed to help. The channels blurred together as his mind drifted back to the cursed room.

As the night grew darker, he found himself staring at his door, the number 217 clearly visible. Just a few doors down was room 222, the source of his unease. He wondered if anyone else in the hotel was aware of the cursed room's history. Did they hear the same melody? Were they as frightened as he was?

A knock at the door startled him. Jungkook jumped up, heart racing, but it was just the room service with his dinner. He thanked the staff and took the tray, closing the door behind him. The food smelled delicious, but he found it hard to eat. His mind kept wandering back to Jisung's story and the melody he had heard.

After forcing himself to eat, he decided to take a hot shower to calm his nerves. The steam filled the bathroom, and for a moment, he felt a sense of normalcy. But as he stepped out of the shower, he heard it again. The soft, haunting melody drifting through the walls. His blood ran cold. It was the same tune, gentle and sad, echoing from room 222.

Jungkook quickly dressed and sat on the edge of his bed, trying to rationalize what he was hearing. Maybe it was just his imagination. Maybe Jisung's story had planted the idea in his head, and now he was hearing things that weren't really there. But the melody was too clear, too distinct to be a figment of his imagination.

He grabbed his phone and texted Mingyu, hoping a conversation with his friend would distract him.

- Hey, you won't believe the weird stuff happening here.

minGAY

- What's up?

jungSHIT

- I'm at this hotel, and there's this room... room 222. It's supposedly cursed. I keep hearing this creepy melody coming from it.

minGAY

- Dude, you're probably just freaked out. Try to relax. Watch a movie or something.

jungSHIT

- Yeah, maybe. But the story behind it is pretty messed up. A woman killed her husband there and then herself. People say her spirit sings this melody.

minGAY

- Wow, that's intense. But still, it's probably just your mind playing tricks on you. Don't let it get to you.

Jungkook sighed and put his phone down. Mingyu was right; he needed to calm down. He turned on a movie, hoping it would distract him enough to fall asleep. But as the night dragged on, the melody seemed to grow louder. He tossed and turned, unable to shake the feeling of dread.

Finally, exhaustion overtook him, and he drifted off into a fitful sleep. His dreams were filled with haunting images of the wife, her sad eyes staring at him, her bruised body moving through the halls of the hotel, singing her sorrowful tune. He woke up several times, each time more disoriented and scared than before.

Morning couldn't come soon enough. As soon as the first light of dawn seeped through the curtains, Jungkook got up, dressed quickly, and headed downstairs for breakfast. He needed to get out of his room, to be around people, to feel some semblance of normalcy.

At the breakfast buffet, he spotted Jisung and waved him over. They sat together, and Jungkook wasted no time in bringing up the events of the previous night.

"I heard it again, the melody," Jungkook said, his voice shaky. "It was coming from room 222."

Jisung looked at him seriously. "That's why it's cursed. The wife's spirit lingers, singing the song she was never allowed to sing in life."

Jungkook shivered. "I don't know what to do. I can't stay here with that... with her singing."

Jisung nodded sympathetically. "Maybe it's time to find another hotel. Some things aren't worth the curiosity."

Jungkook agreed, deciding then and there that he would check out as soon as possible. But the haunting melody and the tragic story of room 222 would stay with him.
