Valli's PoV

"Then it's gonna be his last day, Kalyan.

His low moment is our strength!

Alert all the forces to surround the village... In disguise!

Pass Section 144 and ask the teams to check every other vehicle that passes through the highway and roads connecting to that village.

Home arrest the people, you doubt in all the nearby villages.

Get ready for the worst.

Let both mom-son reach the burial ground together" Mama said determined and came back upstairs and quickly prepared himself to go out along with Kalyan.

I stayed upstairs, witnessing all the things going around even without the thought of bathing.

I was in total disbelief, like to arrest that smuggler they were not leaving this event.

He lost his mom, dude. Have some humanity at least!

Mama and Kalyan were about to cross the door, but Pallavi came opposite to them along with Baby.

"YOU? " Mama asked

"Pallavi... Our Neighbor, and baby's Mom too" I answered from the first floor.

"Why are you here? " Mama asked her

"I'm going to a Pooja event to deliver the food. So,  I thought to invite Madam to join the pooja" She somehow managed to speak amidst fear, due to Mama's dark aura.

"SHE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. SO,  PLEASE...NO.  THANKS"

Mama said her and partially turned sideways to see me, as a warning  for me to stay back at home.

"I'M LEAVING" Mama was supposed to go out, but

"Sit for 2 seconds and go" I mumbled, which was audible

"SHUT UP! " He roared and disappeared.

Tears pooled in my orbs, which I couldn't restrain for long. I went back into my room, sobbing.

They were sobs of dejection and exasperation.

I can't take it anymore...

I can't take this insult to my beliefs anymore...

Not just now...

But always...

The customs that he has overridden are reasons why I'm consentful to his actions.

And he just berates them!

Why can't he just respect my beliefs and practices?

I felt tiny hands on my teary cheek.

But smoothly took them off, as I hadn't bathed yet.

But, being an introvert I couldn't weep longer in front of others. So,  I wiped off my tears and disappeared into the washroom asking Pallavi to wait in the hall.

The warm water inflamed the marks he awarded, those only increased the shade of red in my eyes.

After bathing, I went down and took responsibility for the baby.

I didn't mind taking care of the baby until Pallavi returned.

I'm not doing anything. At least those who are doing can do it perfectly.

Arasan's PoV

I reached the team, waiting for me in the forest. But I didn't know a letter also was waiting for me.

"Come let's move. Mom would have cooked tasty Cheetal's curry. I can't wait to devour it" I said hanging my rifle to my shoulder.

But they didn't move, even though I moved forward.

"Oi...  Why are you wasting time? Are not visiting the mom? "

Murugan meekly spoke in a quivering voice,

"Anna...  Take this letter" He handed me, an envelope

With a frown, I opened it and started to read

"
Magane, (Dear son)

Hope you are fine and away from misfortune like me."

Misfortune and mom...  Chi chi

"Hmmm...  I know you're not accepting that I'm a misfortune. But that's the truth dear.

The misfortune, which didn't let me have a peaceful life with my husband...  And didn't even let me have a peaceful cremation in the hands of my son. "

What the hell she is writing !?

" Yeah,  my dear... By this time this letter reaches you. I would have died."

AGHHHHHHHHHH

AMMMMMMAAAAAAA!

My screams would have scared the scary forest, but they could calm the storm in me.

Amma...  Amma...

I started to run in the forest to go to my mom.

But I slipped in the sludge due to a storm which poured out the last night.

Ammma...

Falling on the ground, I started to weep...

But, only to realize that much is left to weep after I further read the letter.

"PLEASE DON'T COME TO MY CREMATION SON.

ASSUME IT AS YOUR MOM'S LAST WISH.

I CAN'T SEE YOU ARRESTED AND TORMENTED BY THOSE BLOODY COPS.

PLEASE DON'T COME... MY SON.

TAKE CARE OF YOU AND NILA...

NAIVE BELLE She is...

SHE LOVES YOU LIKE A MANIAC.

DON'T LEAVE HER LIKE YOUR DAD, WHO LEFT YOUR MOM.

BUT PLEASE, WHATEVER HAPPEN

PLEASE DON'T COME... MY SON... PLEASE"

AMMMMMMAAAAAA!!!!!!

MY SALIVA AND THE SLUDGE MIXED AS I CONTINUED TO WEEP LYING IN THE PIT OF SOIL.

Murugan informed me that cops have indeed waiting for us in my native, not even letting me witness my Mom's face for the last time.

AGHHHHHHHHHHHH!

DG!

You didn't even let me respect my Mom,  by performing her last rites right!

Even I won't let your respect sustain!
