Ace and Deuce in Night Shift 01 (Game by Puppet Combo)

This is Ace and Deuce in Night Shift Chapter One of two.

Ace was expecting a lot of things when he woke up but waking right in front of a gas station was not one of them.

„The hell?" He said rather confused as he registered where he was. Was he dreaming? He looked around and saw a familiar face laying on the ground next to. Deuce was there laying next to him.

Ace blinked a few times as he stared at the others in disbelief. Why the heck were they sleeping in front of a gas station? What kind of weird dream was he having?
Before he could finish his thought process, Deuce sat up.

„Huh?..." He said up and looked around, taking in his surroundings. As he saw Ace „Ace?.. what is going on?" Deuce looked just as confused as he was.

Ace simply shrugged. „I don't know..." He still wasn't sure if he was dreaming or not.

Deuce also didn't know if he was dreaming or not. He then looked back at Ace. Without another word they both pinched each other.

„Ow..." They both say quietly. „Not a dream..." Deuce says. „Definitely not a dream." Ace said while rubbing his arms where Deuce had pinched him.

„Where are we even?" Deuce asks as he gets up and looks around again. They were seemingly in the middle of nowhere and it was extremely dark, the only thing his eyes were able to make out was was the street and gas station wich was the only light source.

„I wish I knew." Ace pauses. „More importantly, why are we here? Did we piss someone off or something?" He asks as he gets up as well.

„Even if we did why would they just knock and throw us off at a gas station?" Deuce questions.

„As a prank, maybe? Some people are weird... I don't how else to explain it. Or do you have a better explanation?" He simply says.

Deuce shakes his head. „No but none of this makes sense. I don't even remember anything from before we woke up here."

Ace nods. „I also don't remember anything." He suddenly looks though his pockets and finds his phone. „My phone still works but I have no network connection. So I wouldn't be able to call anyone or find out where exactly we are."

Deuce pulls out his phone as well. „Same here." He looks over at the gas station. „Should we go in there?" He asks as he points at it.

„Yes it's getting a little cold. And the people who work there may be able to get back to the collage. We can worry about how we got here later." Ace says as he starts making his way to the gas station.

Deuce nods and follows Ace. „Hopefully Riddle won't be too mad at us when we get back."

„Shit! I completely forgot about that! We will probably be in so much trouble for being away for a night without telling anyone or asking for permission." Ace exclaimed and let out a annoyed huff. „Hopefully we'll get some understanding! Because I'm not taking the blame for basically getting kidnapped and dropped off somewhere!"

Deuce nods as he opens the gas station door. „I have to agree with you on this one."

They both make their way to the cash register. Just as they were about to say something the cashier starts talking.
„Just in time! Hurry up and punch in. I've got a hot date tonight." Katz the cashier says.

Ace and Deuce look at each other weird and then back at the cashier.
„We don't work here." Ace says almost immediately.
„Yeah." Deuce says as he nods in agreement.

„Of course you do!" Katz the cashier says back. „Come on don't make jokes now I've gotta go."

Ace and Deuce stare at him blankly.
„Listen we don't work here. We just need help to get back to our collag-" Deuce starts speaking but can't finish his sentence because he gets cut off.

„Sorry I didn't sweep the floor, I was too busy." The cashier said like he didn't hear what was said. „Hey, Rick left a list of side work to do on your guys shift. Now I've got to get out of here." He then very quickly went to the door. „Oh yeah, one more thing. I can't find the keys anywhere. The bathrooms are locked up... so go behind the dumpster I guess." And with that he was out the door before Ace or Deuce could even react.

Ace and Deuce just stared at the door and then at each other. After a moment of silence they pinch each other again.
„Still not a dream." They both say.

Before anything else can be said they notice a note on the cash register that is addressed to them.
Ace picks it up and reads it.
„Dear Ace and Deuce,
If you are reading this you are stuck in my game in order to get back you guys will have to complete the task that I gave you. Right now all you guys will have to do is watch over the gas station for the night shift, serve the customers, complete Rick's task list and find the bathroom room keys. Once all of that is done a bus will come and pick you guys up.
Good luck!"

„What the?" Deuce says baffled by this note.
Ace lets out an annoyed sigh. „Great, so we got kidnapped, dropped at a random gas station and now we have to work. Just great! Anything else?"

Deuce just shakes his head. „I guess we don't really have much of a choice but to do what is asked until this bus comes."

„I don't really trust this note." Ace says
„Neither do I but what else are we supposed to do?" Deuce said back. Ace thought about, there were in the middle of nowhere, they didn't know where they were and the only where they could be like 50/50 be sure to get back war doing what the note said.
„Fine..."
