"Mnet announces the launch of a new boy group survival show, Boys Planet"
She swore she wasn't going to watch another survival show, not after what happened to ProduceX101. She resented those who used and stepped on the dreams of the boys for their own benefit. Now they were rebranding and launching another survival show after 4 years...
But the power of dreams was much stronger than she imagined. Seeing 98 boys working towards their dreams, wanting to be seen by the world, she wished she had a clear goal like them; she wished she had the courage to be like them.
Her YouTube algorithm knew her too well. It started recommending clips from the show, stirring up her curiosity.
"Okay, I'll just watch the stages, nothing else," she told herself, despite knowing that she would likely become addicted to the show sooner or later.
A couple of the trainees did leave an impression on her due to their outstanding performances, but none of them got her hooked.
Unlike what she expected, for the first two months, she stuck with what she said and only watched clips on Youtube without tuning in to the actual show or trying to get to know the trainees better.
It felt like she was going to get to the end without being too emotionally involved, which she was happy about.
Yet one stage changed it all.
She knew him as the first K-Centre, the boy who placed first consistently, the trainee who captured hearts since his first appearance on the show.
She thought people liked him only for his visuals. She overlooked his talent and his precious heart of gold, which was truly what made him stand out amongst the crowd. Little by little, her impression of him changed without her knowing it.
The magically addictive song got her watching the stage on repeat. Watching the boy in school uniform, she got interested. She found herself rewatching the boy's previous stages and every single behind-the-scenes clip that he was in. All of a sudden, she realised she was seeing the boy in a completely different light.
They say that realisation usually comes when you're already in too deep.
She, an ordinary girl, fell for an extraordinary boy.
He taught her that anything was possible as long as you put your mind to it. He showed her how people with dreams sparkled from within. So she dreamed big. She didn't know when she started pursuing her dream that one day, life would eventually lead her to him.
Not only did he teach her to dream, he also taught her how to love.
"It's crazy to think that if any one of us made a different decision at any point in life, we might not have met each other and fallen in love." He said to her one day while lying next to her.
"Have you heard of the multiverse theory? It suggests that are other universes out there that exist parallel to ours. I want to believe that we would have crossed paths in every one of them."
