Chapter 4: Rudra Regains Consciousness

Somehow, Pooja managed to drive the car to the hospital.
Rudra was now unconscious, but he still held Vani's hand. With the help of a nurse, Vani managed to get him into the hospital.

The doctor assessed his condition and said, "We need to operate as soon as possible. Where is a family member to sign the consent form?"

Vani stepped forward and signed the paper. Rudra was taken to the operating room, leaving Vani in a state of tension.

"I don't know why, but I'm feeling a strange fear," Vani muttered to herself.

"Please, Bholenath, just make him better. I can't explain why, but I need him to be okay."

Just then, a nurse approached.

"Dr. Vani, the patient has lost a lot of blood. We need a transfusion immediately."

"I'll donate," Vani responded without hesitation.
Fortunately, her blood matched. After donating, she waited anxiously outside the operating room.

Some time later, the doctor emerged.

"The operation was successful.
He's out of danger but will need time to heal. He lost a lot of blood, so we must monitor him closely," the doctor explained.

Vani entered the room where Rudra lay, looking lifeless with an IV drip attached.

"Please, Bholenath, let him recover soon," she whispered.

Turning to Pooja, she said, "We should head back to the hostel. He won't regain consciousness until tomorrow, and there's blood all over my clothes. Dr. Ravi is on duty and will inform us as soon as Rudra wakes up."

Pooja nodded, and they left together. Meanwhile, in the forest, Karan had returned with his men. Gunfire echoed from both sides. After some time, Rudra's men had killed everyone.

Akhil approached Karan. "Sir, all their men are dead, but their leader escaped before we arrived."

Karan smirked mysteriously. "He was just a pawn. Someone else is pulling the strings."
Akhil, Rudra's personal assistant and trusted friend, was visibly tense.

"There's no trace of Rudra, sir. Our men are searching the entire forest."

Karan's face darkened. "He's Rudra Pratap Singh. Nothing can happen to him.
He carries death in his pocket."
He ordered Akhil, "Find out who orchestrated this attack."

Akhil hurried away. Karan gazed at the sky, muttering, "You fool, always taking on trouble yourself. Now you've disappeared too. But I know, you'll survive."

The night passed without Rudra regaining consciousness. Vani, unable to sleep due to worry, returned to the hospital early in the morning. She rushed to Rudra's room and saw him still unconscious. Despite his condition, his face retained a certain calmness.

Vani recalled the events of the previous night: how he had held her hand tightly, his head resting in her lap. Shaking off her thoughts, she murmured, "Bholenath, why am I thinking about all this? Just heal him."

She approached Rudra and gently caressed his head, not fully aware of her actions. Realizing her duty called, she left the room.

By afternoon, Rudra began to stir in his sleep. "Mother, where are you? Don't leave me. I want to go with you," he muttered, his body drenched in sweat. Suddenly, his eyes snapped open, and he found himself in the hospital bed with an IV in his hand. It took a moment for him to gather his bearings, but memories of the previous night began to flood back, including Vani's face and her care.

Just then, the door opened, and a nurse walked in. "You're awake. Please lie down, or your wound might reopen," she said.

Rudra asked, "Who brought me here?"

"Dr. Vani brought you here last night. She's on shift now and should be here soon," the nurse replied.

Rudra repeated the name to himself, "Vani, Dr. Vani."

For some reason, just hearing her name gave him a strange feeling.

At that moment, Vani walked in, her eyes meeting Rudra's. They stared at each other, an unspoken connection hanging in the air. Just as Vani opened her mouth to speak, the door burst open, and Akhil rushed in, breathless. "Sir, we found something you need to see immediately. It's urgent."

Rudra's eyes widened as he looked between Akhil and Vani, his heart pounding with anticipation. What had they discovered?
