The next three days had passed by swiftly. The dinner was wonderfully done with wedding gifts revealed, and Makoto was able to see the footage from The Castle in full after the adopted youths left. He did want to meet up with Taichi, so he was allowed to stay for the dinner. Gelek and Rabten had stopped by a couple times to talk and ensure that Saiki knew how to prepare the next batch of salve. The Survive Bar was also visited, and Osamu was gifting them with the best bottle of champagne he had.
As much as they wanted an at home day, it just couldn't be done. The builders needed blueprints, Saiki had to visit the Geomijul to start up a training room, and she was busy working with The Castle on the next fighting event. The days flew by without even realizing it, and now they were four hours away from their flight to Hawaii.
"Did you set the beef cuts in the air fryer?" Kiryu asked while making breakfast with his wife.
"I did. We have ten minutes until they are done. I can't believe we were given one as a wedding gift!" she laughed.
"Yes. The kids helped us unwrap everything, didn't they?" he chuckled. "We packed what we needed, right?"
"I have a suitcase full of basic things with room to spare for souvenirs," she smiled warmly. "We should leave right after eating. I would rather be at the airport early than late."
"Right. I have the tickets on my phone with our ID cards in my wallet. Same with our passports. I did find it amusing that the Daidoji sent you a passport a couple days ago. They really want to get on your good side. Anyways, we'll be busy when we get back," Kiryu sighed. "Shiro took a few of your books to study. Same with the others to start learning things they wanted to do to start a profession. They want to help us as much as they can."
"I made a note of what was taken to show 'on loan' for now. They were all excited about the pregnancy," she laughed softly.
"Haruka was adamant to start living here to help. Maybe we can make a separate living area for her. An estate under the estate..." Kiryu mused.
"That would be a neat idea," she nodded. "But I have a list of things to do the moment we land in Hawaii."
"Go over them with me?" he asked and sat with her. She leaned into him to think on the next few things to do.
"We check out the hotel gift from the Daidoji. We see who is able to get rooms nearby that came with us. Then I take care of that job," she said seriously. "Right after that, we retreat to the hotel. And we don't leave until we're ready."
"I like that," he nodded. "Oh. Do we pick up a pregnancy test?"
"I already have one packed."
"Ah. Good. At least you've been feeling better."
"I think those vitamins are helping. And the improvement to the shit drink," she giggled softly at his kiss to her cheek. "I've also been reading that the first three months are very critical. So I'll want to get checked out the moment I feel something is wrong."
"I would insist on it," Kiryu nodded. He saw his phone buzzing and he answered it. "Kasuga? What's up?"
"You're not gonna believe this. I went down to the prison when Makoto asked me to stop by. Yamai wanted to chat with me..." Kasuga said. Kiryu blinked and put the phone on speaker.
"Saiki, do you recall someone by the name of Yamai?" Kiryu asked.
"Hmm....ah..." Saiki blinked. "Yutaka Yamai. Murdered his patriarch?"
"That's the one. He was set up by the patriarch's wife. She was having an affair with him," Kiryu sighed. "He gave himself up after fleeing to Hawaii and coming back on an agreement."
