The Protector

Chapter 2

(Trigger warning for mentioning the r-word and the a-word even though it's once and no I won't go into detail cause it will make me angry and do something stupid)

It's been six years since the princess was born and many things happened. One of those things was Joshua being promoted to General of the knights in which he took the role fast. On a regular day the staff was having their own war with Autumn, the princess as they tried to get her to eat her vegetables but they were having a hard time. The main Maid Lucy and the lead butler Jake were standing over Autumn trying to get her to eat.

Jake: Come on m'lady please eat your vegetables....

Autumn: No, I don't want too!

Lucy: Young Miss, you won't grow up big and beautiful like your mother if you don't.

Autumn: I don't care, I won't eat my veggies!

They both sighed tiredly as this was a everyday problem they dealt with. The princess was a good child that followed under her mother but they always had trouble getting her to eat certain foods. Once this happens and they try for close to a hour they call in her favorite person. While Joshua was walking through the halls just getting finished training when Lucy ran up to him with a tired look on her face.

Joshua: Let me guess, she won't eat her carrots?

Lucy: No, she won't and her mother is busy with the peace talks with the other kingdoms which the elves are making things hard.

Joshua: When do they not, I'll help with Autumn.

Lucy: Thank you Scar.

He gave a nod before heading to the dining room with Lucy tailing behind him. The other servants and maids were working in fear of what he would do if they weren't working. As they walked into the dining room they saw Jake laying on the floor almost like he was praying to the goddess to help him.

Joshua: Taking up religion Jake?

Jake head instantly shot up at the sound of Joshua voice and started smiling like a demon gaining its first soul.

Jake: Our savior is here, please get her to eat.

Joshua: I'll try, Autumn?

Autumn: Yes Sliver?

Joshua: Why won't you eat your carrots?

Autumn: Because I don't like them and father told me that carrots will hurt me..

He gave a deep and annoyed sigh hearing this.

Joshua: Autumn, I want you to listen to me closely.

Autumn leaned in like someone was talking her a secret with a little smile on her face.

Joshua: Don't believe what your father says most of the time because he doesn't know anything other than war.

Autumn: I guess your right but I still don't want to eat the carrots.

Joshua: Autumn, carrots are good for your eyes and I Know someone who loves carrots.

Autumn: You don't mean....

Joshua: Yes, and she would be upset if her favorite human doesn't eat your carrots and she won't let you brush her mane.

Autumn: I'll eat all my carrots and vegetables, please don't tell Storm.

Joshua: I won't but hurry because she does want to see her favorite human.

Autumn nodded quickly before eating the carrots while everyone just looked at Joshua confused.
