Chapter 2: Discoveries and Revelations

The blonde girl lay on the couch, still unconscious. Astra and Bloom paced nervously in the living room, stealing glances at the stranger who had so abruptly entered their lives.

"I still can't believe what happened back there," Bloom murmured, breaking the tense silence. She examined the cut on her leg, now bandaged but still stinging.

Astra nodded, her mind racing with questions. "Who is she? And what were those things we fought?"

Just then, the girl stirred, her eyelids fluttering open. She sat up slowly, wincing in pain. Her hazel-brown eyes met the twins' curious gazes.

"Where am I?" she asked, her voice hoarse.

"You're in our home," Astra answered gently. "I'm Astra, and this is my sister Bloom. We found you in the park."

The girl looked around, taking in her surroundings before her eyes widened in realization. "Thank you for helping me. My name is Stella."

Bloom leaned in, curiosity overcoming her caution. "Stella, what were those creatures? And why were they attacking you?"

Stella looks at them confused. "You don't know what ghouls and ogres look like?"

Astra and Bloom share a look before Bloom takes over, "Uh, only in fairytales?"

"Fairytales...? Wha-"

Astra cuts her off, "Sorry, but my head is filled with questions and if I don't get answers I might explode." She gestures her head exploding with her hands.

Bloom smothers a laugh at her sister, sitting down next to Stella to rest her leg.

"Ok so. Ogres and ghouls. Check. But, how did your clothes change when you passed out and that- that light show..." Astra leans in, excitement evident on her features, "Was that magic?... Are you magic?"

Stella raises an eyebrow at her, "Well duh, I'm a fairy."

Silence consumes the room for a moment before the twins burst. "A FAIRY?"

Stella jumps in shock, "Yes? Don't tell me you've never..."

Judging by the looks on their faces she got her answer. "How strange." She looks around the room, trying to piece something together. "Where am I?"

Bloom looks at her concerned, "Did you hit your head? We just told you-"

"No. no. no. I mean, what planet is this?"

The twins short out for a moment, look at each other, and then back to her.

Astra forces out "Which planet..?"

Stella looks both amused and exasperated by them, "Yes."

Bloom swallows before answering.

"Earth? Strange. I could've sworn I heard Earth didn't have any fairies."

"As far as we're aware, it doesn't."

Stella looks at them strangely, "But... you are faeries..."

"Us?!"

"Yeah? That 'light show' wasn't me. That was all you. I spent way too much energy before that to be able to do that."

"But we-" Bloom looks to Astra.

"We've never done anything like that before." Astra says, unsure of how she feels.

"Oh, well... Congratulations..?"

Just then Mike and Vanessa return home from their respective jobs.

"Oh, hello. I wasn't aware that you guys were bringing a friend home." Vanessa said.
