The Universe was rejoicing, the flowers were blooming, trees were dancing, and the wind was busy cleansing the bhu loka. Today was the day when Devi Bhagwati Lakshmi appeared from the ocean, bringing prosperity back into the universe. On this day, Lakshmi churned the ocean and emerged from it along with elephants. She had brought Indra's lost wealth and restored his fortune. Lakshmi's association with elephants is one of the eight forms of Maa Lakshmi, earning her the name "Gajalakshmi." She is the Goddess of elephants, the bringer of wealth, cattle, crops, power, strength, grace, prosperity, and fertility.
Today was the birthday of Triloka Swamini Devi Lakshmi.
Vaikuntha Dham was filled with the excitement and eagerness of Uluka and Garuda. They had made all the arrangements to honor their dearest mother, who was in her dhyana mudra. Vaikuntha Dham was getting ready to venerate Vaikuntha Swamini.
The auspicious day had arrived, and the air was filled with anticipation as the devotees prepared to witness the divine manifestation of the eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi. Vaikuntha Dham, adorned with vibrant decorations and echoing with chants, was ready to welcome the supreme goddess. The devotees looked upon the idol of Devi Lakshmi, which began to illuminate a bright light, signaling the emergence of her Ashta Avatars.
First to appear was Adi-Lakshmi, the primeval form of the goddess. Known also as Maha-Lakshmi, she is revered as the daughter of sage Bhrigu and the consort of Lord Vishnu. Adi-Lakshmi is depicted sitting in the lap of Narayana, her four arms holding a lotus and a white flag, while the other two hands are in Abhaya Mudra and Varada Mudra. Her presence symbolizes the eternal nature of the universe, and her serene demeanor bestows peace and happiness upon her devotees. Adi-Lakshmi, embodying purity and prosperity, emerged gracefully, showering blessings upon the gathered devotees.
Dhana Lakshmi appeared next, sparkling with jewels and ornaments that symbolized material abundance. Clad in a shimmering yellow saree, she carried a pot overflowing with gold coins, which she poured gracefully, symbolizing an endless supply of wealth and fortune. Her smile was a promise of prosperity to all who revered her.
Dhanya Lakshmi followed, dressed in a soothing green, symbolizing the earth and all its gifts. She held bundles of grains, fruits, and vegetables, representing food and nourishment. Her presence was like a fertile field, promising that all would have plenty to eat and be well-nourished. Dhanya Lakshmi brought the blessings of good harvests and abundance in food, ensuring no one would go hungry.
Santana Lakshmi arrived gently, dressed in soft pastels, with a baby on her lap, representing the blessings of family and children. She radiated kindness and warmth, promising her followers happiness in family life, harmony, and the joy of children. Santana Lakshmi brought peace and happiness to families, ensuring they would be filled with love and good health.
Next, Veera-Lakshmi, the embodiment of valor and strength, made her grand appearance. Draped in red garments, she possessed eight arms, each holding powerful weapons: a discus, a conch, a bow, an arrow, a trident, and a gold bar, symbolizing her readiness to protect and empower. The remaining two hands were in Abhaya Mudra and Varada Mudra. Veera-Lakshmi bestowed courage and strength upon her devotees, empowering them to overcome adversities and lead stable lives. Her fierce yet benevolent presence instilled a sense of fearlessness and determination.
