"He is a middle aged bitch. That's for sure." - Y/n (not spoken)
I woke up from the 1 hour of sleep that I managed to get to the sound of loud knocking on my door. Jeez, the respect for dissapeared the moment I came into existence. I tried to remove Jiwon from me, but he was holding on as if his life depended on it, and I really wanted to let him sleep seeing as he had a late night yesterday, so I picked him up and walked over to the door, him clinging onto me like a baby koala.
I was more than a little shocked to see my father's face at my door at four am, but life is full of suprises.
"Good morning, father." I greeted him, alertening myself and bowing slightly, as he hates it when you do not pay respect.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Just put Joowon down and follow me. And be quick about it." he snapped, beore walking briskly down the corridor. I scoffed at the fact that dad couldn't even remember his second-child's name as I struggled with Jiwon. I managed to get him off me and layed him back down on his bed, to which he gave a dissaproving grunt. I placed a hurried kiss on his forehead, grabbed a jumper from my wardrobe and dashed out of the room after dad, sprinting to catch up.
He suddenly stopped, giving me an opportunity to yank the hoodie on. I realized we had stopped because he was doing the code for the elevator. We stepped inside and he pressed the number of the floor that was dedicated to his office. Yes, he has a whole floor just for his office. It's a rich people thing.
We stepped out and walked - well, him walking and me half jogging to keep up with his long ass strides - to his office. The security was a whole lot more complicated than the elevater one. It had the whole eyeball scanner and voice recogniser faff. After a while, the heavy doors finally swung open, revealing his humongous office.
It has a very modern vibe, with grey, black and a touch of white marbled floors and black leather sofas here and there. My barefeet and exposed legs suddenly felt a lot more cold. We walked right up to his desk, him going around the other side to sit in his chair, and me staying put, controlling my urge to shiver. Just like he taught me.
[RULE NUMBER ONE: NEVER LOOK VULNERABLE]
He took some papers out of the draw in his desk and looked from them to me, and then back to them again.
"I have made a very important decision. The decision is to make you an actual mafia agent. You start today. "
I kept a stoic expression on my face, not reacting at all to the words I had been dreading for so many months. But inside, I was on the verge of tears. I would be putting myself in life-risking situations day after day, and just to kill some poor innocent soul that was merely in the wrong place at the wrong time. I would have to live with the guilt of being a murderer for my entire life, or get murdered and leave little vulnerable Jiwon all by himself in this cruel world.
But, of course, I didn't let the slightest ounce of emotion show on the outside. My eyes remained perfectly dry, my lip still, my expression unreadable. Just like he taught me.
[RULE NUMBER TWO: NEVER BREAK]
"But, there is something I need to warn you about first." He said, sliding the papers across the desk to me. "This gang is one that I have been at war with for three years now. It started when they provented one of our crucial missions from happening, which caused me an ammount of despair that is unforgivable. Of course, I've built myself back up now-" he leaned back in his chair proudly, "-but I am not one to forgive and forget. And, neither are they. Be careful, they undoubtedly have a plan against us, which may involve harming you."
