IT WAS ALREADY SEVEN PM by the time Agent Winter and Agent Jaehyun had left their company and headed towards Dongshinheul Inn.
Jaehyun was wearing an all black suit, including the shirt. His tie was red and silky and his black shoes seemed brand new. His usual floppy hair was gelled and slicked back, multiple strands falling infront of his face.
Minjeong wore a matching silky satin black dress, paired with black heels. A hidden thigh strap with knives and other gadgets inside is concealed by her dress. Her short blonde hair was let down and wavy, contrasting her dark clothing.
When they arrived outside of the hotel, Minjeong stared at it in awe. She was absolutely stunned, to the point where Agent Jaehyun had to force her out of the car. It was unlike anything she had imagined, especially from the inside.
The pair had walked through and showed their invites. Minjeong was surprised that there was no security. But i guess that could be because she's never actually been to a party before. Not one like this, anyway.
They were told that the auction wouldn't be taking place until nine, so they had about an hour and a half to waste before Minjeong had to skeddadle.
For the first half hour, the pair spent their time wearing fake smiles and talking to random people that Minjeong had never seen or heard of before.
She wanted to die.
Minjeong hated socialising. Especially when it was with people she never knew or wasn't interested in. She had to atleast get through this for a little while before she could start the fun.
After a little while, Minjeong excused herself and headed towards the bar for a drink. Behind the counter was a pretty young woman who had straight brown hair and matching brown eyes. She seemed to be around the same age as herself. Minjeong looked at the woman's nametag which read, "Aeri"
Cute name. "Hello, miss, can i get you something to drink?" The woman asked with a smile. Minjeong looked towards the back, where all the drinks were held, and hummed.
She can't afford to get drunk just now... Nor can she literally afford a drink right now, either. "Just a lemonade, please?" Minjeong asked with a polite smile as she sat on a bar stool and rested against the counter.
Minjeong watched Aeri as she brgan to pour her a glass of lemonade. When she was done, Minjeong thanked her and took a sip. Fancy... It tastes like actual lemons. The drink was sour, and, in no doubt, overly fancy. Minjeong laughed internally, then checked her watch for the time.
It was almost nine pm, which means the auction will start soon. Perhaps she should get going beforehand to get familiar with the interior.
Aeri shouted to someone who was in the kitchen, "Jiminie, can you get some more ice please? We're almost running out up here. Oh and a few more bottles of vodka while you're at it."
A sweet and young voice called back from the kitchen, "Sure! I'm on it."
Minjeong smiled at the young woman and excused herself, walking back into the party and pretending to head to the bathroom. When she arrived near the elevator, there was someone already inside. She waited for them to leave before she caught the next one.
Just as she was about to press the button to head towards the basement, someone slipped through the closing doors hurriedly. The woman sighed, "Sorry, hope you don't mind."
She quickly pressed the button for the basement and looked up at Minjeong. She smiled at her politely as Minjeong's eyes widened. That's... Is it really the woman who bought my stuff for me at the supermarket? She's dressed in uniform and is heading to the basement too. Is she "Jiminie"? Oh, shit, what if she asks me why i'm going to the basement... She can't be here right now, what if she gets hurt?!
Minjeong couldn't stop staring at the woman and i think she might've noticed. The woman cleared her throat quietly and glanced at Minjeong, "Uh... Is there something on my face, or...?"
Minjeong blinked and blood rushed to her cheeks. She shook her head, "Uh, no, sorry. I just think... We've met before?"
The woman looked at Minjeong thoroughly before furrowing her eyebrows. Her lips pouted as she thought. Right. She probably helps everybody that needs it. She wouldn't remember me.
The black-haired woman smiled and pointed her index finger at her, "Oh. Sock girl."
Minjeong blushed, but smiled nontheless. She nodded as she covered her face with her hand, "Uh, i guess so."
"Your blonde hair is unforgettable. Not many people in Seoul supermarkets just have that kind of hair and a matching pretty face, too, you know." The woman said casually, "You look alot more different than when we met at the supermarket."
Minjeong looked at the woman's nametag, noticing that her name was, indeed, Jimin. Her words made Minjeong feel something inside. Not like how her undeniable beauty made her feel, but something else. When she thought about the woman's beauty, it was appreciation she felt. But when she listened to the woman talk about her so greatly, it almost made her feel nervous or confused.
"Thank you." Was all she said, attempting to hide her sweaty palms and slightly tinted cheeks. Jimin smiled.
The elevator came to a stop and Jimin looked at her, "You also getting off here? There are bathrooms on every floor, you know."
Minjeong nodded and walked through the doors, looking back at her. "I know. See you around, Jimin." Minjeong walked through the halls like it was her own home. Within the past two days, she studied the building from the maps that Taeyeon had given her. She could tell you where everything was, off by heart.
She checked her watch, noticing that it was six minutes past nine, meaning she was a little late to the party. When she arrived outside of the doors, she took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.
She slipped through the doors without making a noise, quickly hiding behind isles of alcohol. Of course the auction was being held in a wine cellar. A fucking huge one at that. There were rows and rows of alcohol cabinets and a huge cleared out space with lots of foldable chairs.
What seemed like rich people sat on the chairs. Some stood, and some were calling out objects and doing the average illegal activities.
Minjeong wasn't here to stop the auction, but just obtain those three items. Dagger, shades, green liquid. Dagger, shades, green liquid. Minjeong recited the three objects in her head as her eyes scanned the room.
...How am i gonna get them if they're either in plain sight, or in someones pocket?
