Embarrassed. That's how Luna felt when she walked into the bar on the second night. She didn't even want to go to the bar today, but Taylor had a rough day, and she didn't want to go alone so she dragged Luna with her. She didn't even give the younger girl a chance to get changed so Luna was still in a pair of sweatpants and this bright pink crop top.
"I need you to stay with me tonight, okay?" Luna clutched onto her friend's arm as the two walked into the bar. The blonde turned to her with a frown on her face, "What?" She asked, she knew something weird happened between Luna and Nick, but she also knew Luna herself was very weird. "I took two edibles at home and now I'm scared of how I'll act."
"Why two?" Taylor sat down on a bar stool while Luna struggled to get on one beside her. "I was busy with my comic book, and I get a lot of inspiration when I'm high." She reached out to the bowl of peanuts on the table before Taylor pulled it away from her, "You don't know how many hands have been in there, I'll order you some fries."
"Thank you," Five minutes later and Luna had a diet coke and fries when Nick finally saw her sitting with Taylor. The first thing he noticed when he saw her, was her shirt. "Taylor," He started as he reached them, "Luna." He looked from the blonde to Luna who could barely make eye contact with him.
"Nicholas, long time." Luna pressed her arms onto the bar as Taylor watched her lean forward, watching Nick do the same thing. For a while the two didn't say anything, it looked like they were having a staring contest and Taylor just sipped on her drink as she waited for someone to say something.
"This is gonna sound really weird but in the future, I do something really bad to you." That's what Nick chooses to say when he breaks the silence.
"No, I don't wanna be here." Taylor gets up, shaking her head when she sees Jess walk out of the men's room with some really hot guy, two guys from the bar and Mikayla so she decides to see what that's about.
"Did Future Nick tell you that?" Luna watches as Nick takes her drink from her before he starts making her a real one.
Nick just nodded with a chuckle, "Yeah but whatever it is, I'm sorry." He slides the drink over to her, "Is this you bribing me for my forgiveness?" Luna takes a sip of the drink, slightly staining the glass with her lip gloss. It's slightly sweet and she grins at him when she puts the glass down on the bar, "My forgiveness has been bought." Her upbeat tone makes him chuckle before she speaks up again, "What is this?"
"An old fashion." She lets out a soft gasp, taking another sip of her drink. "I've always wanted to try one." Her jaw slightly shivered when she spoke when Nick notices the goosebumps on her arms.
"You know that's the smallest top I've ever seen in my life." He comments, trying not to point directly at the top she's wearing. "And it's practically see-through." He could see the outline of her bra through the shirt, it was lacey and pink, and he should not be looking at that. "Ok, boomer." Nick rolled his eyes at her comment before gesturing for her to come around the bar which was the one thing he never let anyone do so Luna decided to take her chance.
"I just don't want you to catch a cold." Nick skipped past her insult as he grabbed his red hoodie from under the bar as he handed it to her, watching as she pulled it over her shoulders, "Does this make me Girl Nick now? Is there a multiverse of Nicks?" She teased, pulling the hoodie over her head, "I don't know what you're talking about." Nick made that little turtle face that he always made when he didn't know what was going on as the English girl stared up at him, her big brown eyes luring him into her. It was like she was bewitching him, drawing him in.
"What?" Luna, picking up on the way he's staring at her, furrows her eyebrows when Nick shakes his head, "It's nothing," He reaches his right hand over, gripping the bottom of the jacket as he uses the other one to zip up the jacket for her, mumbling something about how she would break it before he raises his head and meets her eyes again, that same captivated look appears on his face as Luna lets out a playful laugh, "What are you staring at?"
Nick paused, unsure of what to say next and thanks to the small room behind the bar, he couldn't even moonwalk his way out of here. "It's just..." He stops himself before Luna leans in closer, a slight concern on her face now. "Yeah," She has to stand on her toes to make direct eye contact with him before he lets out a sigh that she can feel on her lips.
"Its just that you have the prettiest eyes I've ever seen." His words make her fall back, her feet now planted firmly on the ground. "What?" She asks, unsure if she heard him right but before he could say anything, someone else spoke up. "Excuse me, Luna." The voice both of them turn their heads to the dark-haired man on the other side of the bar.
Luna just stares at him, her mouth slightly open as Nick looks from her to the man that spoke her name, "Do you know this guy?" He asks, feeling uneasy about the way she keeps staring at him before she nods, "Nick this is my ex, Ben." And just like that, she was no longer looking at Nick, too enthralled by the man who had broken her heart.
