The sand was still warm from the summer sun's heat under Jake's bare feet as he spread a blanket out by the large rocks on the beach. It was three years to the day that he arrived on the island lost, heartbroken, and alone. Three years since he walked into the only resort on the island and scribbled his way through a handwritten application for a job to feed his belly and put a roof over his head. It was a strange anniversary to celebrate but Ocean always insisted the day they met was his best day ever and Jake decided even if it had been one of his worst days he was glad for Ocean it was a happy memory.
Jake was exhausted when he arrived on the island and had traveled for hours by plane car and boat to get away from a pain he thought would consume him. It had been such a bad day for him the day he left his old life behind. That horrible day led him to better days though. It led him to the beach he grew to love to a little town that had welcomed him and to a man who was completely different from the one he left behind in his old life. A man who was cheerful and kind. Ocean was trustworthy and true to his word. Ocean would never leave him or abandon him Ocean would never take his love and protection and throw it away like it meant nothing to him the way someone else had. Perhaps that day three years ago hadn't been his best day, but it had led him to ones that were.
Jake looked out at the waves as the tide rolled in and out. The urge to walk into the water pulled him forward as it always did and he stepped just at the edge of the surf letting his feet sink into the wet sand. He moved his body closer to the water letting it lap against his ankles the smell of the crisp air seemed to cleanse his lungs and his thoughts. Jake stopped moving further forward when he felt arms wrap around him. Familiar scents of oud and a sweet amber surrounded him.
"You are almost late." Jake said softly.
"I know I am sorry. I hurried I just had a few stops to make along the way. Come let me show you what I brought." Ocean turned Jake to face the blanket which now had a large shopping bag sitting in the middle.
"I have something for you to but If I give it to you here we might get arrested. Jake whispered as he leaned in to press his lips to the taller man's kissing him in a gentle longing way.
There was a coquettishness about Jake that often surprised Ocean. A side to himself that Jake only showed when he was aroused. Ocean liked it. It was a contrast to his Jake's more serious personality when he worked and his loving almost innocent personality when he was amongst their friends. Jake only showed this naughty playful erotic behavior when they were alone. It was only for him and Ocean delighted in the attention.
"Come sit with me a while and let me give you my gifts first then I'll gladly accept yours." Ocean smirked as he ran his hand over Jake's chest down to the button on the man's pants while returning the kiss Jake had given him with a deep hungry lustful meeting of their mouths.
"You brought flowers?" Jake reached to pick up the bouquet as he and Ocean sat on the blanket. "These are perfect I always prefer them over fancy flowers. Roses are so overdone and cliché. I never told you wildflowers are my favorite. How did you know? There is lavender too. You know lavender brings you good luck." Jake smiled as he inhaled the scent of each of the flowers.
Ocean returned Jakes sweet smile. Seeing Jake love the simple gift so much he was glad he had taken the strangers advice. "I brought dinner too, I think maybe it might be too spicy though."
Jack grinned and grabbed up the box opening it quickly to find it filled with curry. "I will be the judge of that. I haven't eaten all day." Jake picked up a spoon that had been taped to the box and began to shovel the food into his mouth. Ocean happily watched Jake eat like a hungry puppy. "It is really good it could use a little more heat. Maybe some more spices would do, but it is really good." Jake said as he offered a spoonful to the taller man.
