Bradley was slumped on his bed, his feet dangling over the side, and his eyes toward the ceiling. Why did he ever think anyone would take him seriously? Especially some idiot who's never taken anything seriously a day in his life. Bradley felt stupid for ever thinking he and Max could have a proper relationship.
His pillow had a few small tear stains. What hadn't ended up on the pillow was either on his sleeve or soaked into his cheeks. Bradley hadn't allowed himself to ball his eyes out, but he had shed some silent tears. His eyes were now red and dry. The hand he slapped Max with was still warm. He told himself he didn't feel guilty, because Max was a complete idiot and total asshole, but something in his chest sank when recalling the look on Max's face.
He didn't know what he was going to do.
Max stood outside Bradley's door for a few moments after it was slammed in his face. He quickly realized that Bradley must have been there to see the kiss. Anger bubbled in his chest.
He whipped his head to the side, now facing his own dorm room. He stomped over to the door and knocked aggressively. His cheek burned from Bradley's swing. It hurt Max more on the inside. To think Bradley thought he would cheat so easily. And with Amy of all people. Before he tried to mend things with Bradley, Max needed to see someone else first.
The door opened and there stood P.J, his expression nervous. Max's eyebrows were intensely furrowed.
He looked up at P.J. "You didn't tell Amy anything, did you?" He asked, already knowing what the answer would be.
He was hesitant. "No, it wasn't me," he replied.
"Right," Max said. He pushed past P.J, his fingers curling into a fist.
Bobby was sitting at their communal desk, playing something on his phone. Max tapped him on the shoulder with force.
Bobby spun around, looking up. "Hey, what hap-" he began, trying to ask about the red mark on Max's cheek.
Max swung his fist with no reluctance. It crashed into Bobby's jaw, and he flew out of the chair he sat in.
Bobby laughed, now lying on the floor, holding his mouth from the pain. "I'm guessing you ran into Amy, then?" He asked.
"Why the fuck are you trying to ruin my life!" Max yelled. He thrusted his leg toward Bobby's gut, but Bobby scrambled away just in time.
He made it to the doorway, only looking back for a second to shout back, "This is for your own good, Max!" He rushed out of the room and down the hall.
Max chased after him, almost running into another student as he turned the corner. He grabbed a book from that poor, random student and chucked it at Bobby. It hit his legs and he fell, Max quickly catching up. As Bobby began to stand, Max grabbed him by his shirt and yanked him back. Bobby elbowed him in the face, causing Max to let go and hold his nose.
Bobby practically launched himself down the stairs to the first floor, and booked it out the building. On his way out the main entrance, he ran into someone and fell to the ground. Max caught up once again and pinned him down with his body weight. Bobby was struggling, throwing his lanky limbs in every direction, but Max managed to shift his position so he was sitting on top of him.
Max began hammering his fists into Bobby wherever he could, one blow after the other. Bobby tried to block his face, but Max's hits brought him to a bloodied nose and punctured lip.
Max then held down Bobby's arms so he couldn't hit him back while he spoke. Bobby thrashed every which way but his strength really wasn't anything compared to Max's.
"Why'd you do that!?" Max screamed in his face. People began crowding around. "Why'd you have to lie to Amy and ruin everything?"
Bobby tried to break free. "I'm trying to help you! He's got you brainwashed or something," he argued back. He managed to slip his arm free from Max's grasp and sock him across the face. Max fell to his side and wiped the blood that now also dripped from his nose. Bobby was on him now, aimlessly throwing punches.
