mafuyu was walking down the sidewalk, on her way to the local clothing shop so that she could buy something as a birthday present for her mother. it was a windy day. she kept her arms close to her chest to protect herself from the chill in the air as she continued walking towards the shop.

as she approached the small shop, the large glass windows showcasing a variety of different clothing items and accessories inside were visible in her line of sight. different dresses, shirts, pants, shorts, and more, the store had many items for sale. mafuyu pushed open the door to the shop as the bell rang.

as she entered the shop, mafuyu glanced around and her gaze landed on a person with light pink hair tied into a ponytail on the right side of their head. they were busy trying to organize something at the moment. she recognized this person as her close friend, mizuki.

mizuki had been in the middle of organizing some clothes when they heard mafuyu's voice. they flinched dramatically, falling to the floor in response. then, as they looked up and saw it was... mafuyu? they realized who it was and were surprised by her presence.

"mafuyu! uh- it's nice to meet you.." mizuki stood up and dusted themselves off before looking at mafuyu with a nervous smile. "what brings you here?"

mafuyu took a moment to respond, her face remaining stoic as always. "i came here to get something for my mother's birthday," she said in her usual calm tone. she paused momentarily before continuing, "i was wondering if you could make a beige dress for me."

mizuki was slightly surprised by mafuyu's request, but quickly recovered from their initial shock. "sure thing!" they said, giving mafuyu a cheerful smile. "but why a beige dress specifically?

"well," mafuyu began, her expression unchanged. "it's because my mother likes the color beige. she often wears it a lot, and it suits her well. i thought a beige dress would be a nice gift for her birthday."

mizuki nodded in understanding. "ah, i see," they said, still smiling. "a beige dress it is, then. when do you need it by?"

"i need it by next week," mafuyu replied, her gaze unwavering. "i want to make sure i have it on time for her birthday."

mizuki nodded again, making a mental note of the deadline. "alright, i can definitely have it ready for you by next week. any specific style or design you want for the dress?"

mafuyu paused for a moment, contemplating mizuki's question. "no, i don't have anything specific in mind," she said eventually. "i trust your judgment, so feel free to design it however you think will look best."

mizuki grinned at mafuyu's response, happy to have some freedom in designing the dress. they were always up for a creative challenge. "great! i'll get to work on it right away," they said, already beginning to imagine different design ideas in their mind.

mafuyu's expression remained stoic as ever, but her voice held a hint of practicality. "before you start," she said, "don't you need my mother's measurements for the dress?"

mizuki shook their head, still wearing a confident smile. "nah, no need," they replied. "i have a good eye for these things. i can take a guess at her measurements based on some rough estimates."

they chuckled slightly, clearly feeling like they could handle the task. "trust me, i've done this plenty of times before! i can make sure the dress fits perfectly without needing specific measurements."

mafuyu raised an eyebrow, somewhat skeptical but not entirely surprised by mizuki's answer. she knew her friend was confident in their abilities, but she couldn't help but worry a bit about the possibility of the dress not fitting her mother properly.

"are you sure you don't need her measurements?" mafuyu asked, her skepticism clearly showing in her tone. "it's important that the dress fits well. my mother is very particular about these things."

mizuki chuckled again, seemingly amused by mafuyu's concern. "i appreciate your worry," they said, still wearing their confident smile. "but trust me, i got this. i've made plenty of dresses without needing specific measurements before, and they've all turned out great. your mother won't even know the difference."

mafuyu was still somewhat unconvinced, but she knew there was no point in arguing with mizuki when they were this confident. she figured she would just have to trust her friend's abilities and hope for the best.

"...fine," mafuyu said, her expression returning to its usual stoicism. "if you're certain you don't need the measurements, i'll trust your judgment. but please make sure it fits well. i don't want to disappoint my mother on her birthday."

mizuki nodded, understanding the importance of making the dress perfect. "don't worry, mafuyu. i'll make sure the dress fits your mother just right," they assured her. "i won't let you down. now, i better get started on that dress if i want to finish it in time."

"okay," mafuyu said, her expression and tone still as emotionless as ever. "i'll leave you to it, then."

she turned to leave the shop, but before exiting, she paused momentarily and glanced back at mizuki, her gaze softening.
