"A dream is a wish your heart makes." -Cinderella
Perching over the two headstones, huddled in the cold, and numbly clutching the two bouquets of flowers, silently tears rolled down my cheeks.
I fell to my knees, placing the flowers carefully on the soil. One had my father's name, the other, my brother's. I aimlessly wiped at my eyes and then began to slowly run my fingers across their engraved names. Thinking of their lifeless bodies laying in the cold coffin forever, forgotten by the world, resumed my waterworks.
Suddenly everything went quiet...I didn't hear the rain which was, previously slowly, but surely dripping from the tree leaves nor did I hear the eerie silence of the graveyard. I didn't feel the damp grass and soil beneath my feet but a soft fur like surface replaced it.
I removed my head from my hands and wiped at my eyes, enabling myself to see clearly. I was now in a room that seemed fit for a princess; in the center was a king sized bed adorned with silky purple canopy, and a walk in closet which took up an entire wall.
As I walled towards the white, larger-than-life dresser, I spotted a door. Upon opening it I realized it led to a very large and very white bathroom. I stepped inside, to my left was a large bathtub, that took up almost half of the room's space; next to that was a wide full-length mirror that took up majority of the space on the back wall. To my right was a sink and toilet which weren't huge (thank God) but just extremely elegant.
"It's so beautiful," I whispered to myself.
I suddenly felt as if I was intruding on someone, I turned to escape from the room and found myself in the mirror which I somehow missed going into the bathroom. The cascading hem of my dress caught my eye, making me stop.
"How did I not notice this dress...where did it even come from."
I was originally wearing a knee length, black, lace dress at the cemetery but I currently had on a huge, puffy, short sleeved, sky blue ball gown.
"Ball gown...? Perhaps my dress vanished along with--"
I didn't have time to complete my thought as I was greeted with the closing of the bedroom door. I cautiously turned to face the guest.
"You're the guest, dummy. Chances are this person knows where he is."
My conscience couldn't have been more right, the so-called 'intruder' was indeed male...and what an attractive male he was. He dressed as if he were a prince... Not a king, he didn't possibly look old enough...his caramel skin completion, flawless face, toned body, and tall stature drew me to him immediately.
Despite the trance he seemed to have me in I still found the strength to ask, "Who are you?"
He looked taken aback by my question. "You don't recognize me, Princess?"
"Princess??!! What?!" My head, confused, was screaming... So naturally, I screamed as well.
"Princess??!!" If I was a cartoon character my eyes would definitely be bulging out of their sockets right now.
"Yes," He calmly replied. "You're my Princess."
I quickly scanned the room to make sure this Adonis of a guy was referring to me, being the only other person present, I realized he was.
"B-b-but princesses are supposed to be 'perfect'," I stuttered out, backing away from the handsome stranger. "Trust me, my life is no where close to perfection."
"Everyone has flaws," He said slowly stepping towards me.
"Yeah, but I don't just have flaws, I am one!" I exclaimed, letting him closer to me. "And besides, I'm sure you've met other girls much more worthy of being your 'princess'."
The prince led me towards a love seat, which seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
"I have, but your personality is by far more beautiful than that of any girls' I've seen." He said sitting us down. "And besides, you're the one I want... the girl of my dreams." He whispered gently as he intertwined my hands with his.
I was aware of the confused look that my face no doubt sported, because after all...dreams don't come true, right?
