I watch the pale moonlight peaking through the curtains
A pale blue sheen that paints the ceiling
I watch the wall for hours on end
Knowing that when the sun's rays peak into the morning sky
My eyes will be bloodshot red
Going through the day is like floating in a pool
Aware where I am while my mind is somewhere else
Voices flow from one ear and out of the other
And my mind is slowly turned into mush
But I can't stop it
I live for the dreams I experience when I'm awake
As I lay sleepless in my bed
Hoping that another night won't make my head ache
